Owner description: A splendid estate from the XIXth century, a classical style chateau amid centennial trees as well as three exceptional vineyards on the Right Bank of Bordeaux: Chateau Vray Croix de Gay on the gravel plateau of Pomerol, a plot next to Petrus, the other between Trotanoy and Le Pin ; Chateau Le Prieure, on the limestone plateau and south-facing slopes of Saint-Emilion, with Chateau Ausone in the distance ; Chateau Siaurac, Lalande de Pomerol, on the extension fo the Pomerol plateau, surrounded by the English-style park. The potential of each chateau’s terroir is enhanced by our technical director, Penelope Godefroy, who comes from the team at Chateau Latour, and is advised by Jean-Claude Berrouet, the former oenologist at Petrus.

Visited as part of a river cruise tour. We had a short introduction to our wine tasing with cheese and nibbles provided.

Very good to try different wines.

A artist was painting using the local wine.....interesting to see and to chat to him.

Sad that we were unable to go inside the Chateau, we would have loved to see this. Enjoyable time.

After a weeklong, idyllic stay at Chateau Siaurac we were informed that it is closed.

Chateau Latour is taking over running the vineyards and the use of the beautiful chateau has not been announced. We've heard that they will not be renting rooms. Paul Goldshmidt's antiques and artwork and collectibles have been removed from the site.

So sorry about this. We wanted to return annually.

The grounds are wonderful and extensive and you are allowed to roam around. There are also deckchairs, tables etc. for relaxing. The public rooms are just beautiful. Our group was greeted warmly on arrival. We were then offered various wines to taste. All the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the wines.
We enjoyed an excellent lunch, in elegant surroundings, 4 courses in a lovely small dining room, followed by a wine tasting and a short tour of an adjacent vineyard.

Booked a suite at the chateau whcih turned out to have a toilet and victroian bath in the room with no separation aside from a silk screen. We asked to change to a Junior suite which cost an extra 40 euros but was a bigger room with an ensuite. We dined at the restaurant where each course took an hour presumably due to the fact that the waiter exhibited signs of being slightly inebriated. Food was delicious when it did arrive and the wine was great. The chateau has just started out as ahotel and no doubt will improve (I hope) as prices of €25o per room and €100 per head demands proper service and attention. The breakfast was fantastic and included in the room price served in a private room - beautiful. very friendly and hospitable staff.

Went there to have a 'brunch' and tour. This was way beyond a 'brunch'! Food was elegant and 4 courses in a lovely small dining room, followed by a wine tasting. Close to St. Emillion and well worth the visit.

We are very happy you enjoyed your visit at Siaurac, closed to Saint-Emilion. The chef Jean François Robert and his team proposed food from the market.
Hope to see you again, maybe for harvest next year.
Thank you
Céline
