We stayed for 3 nights but really would have loved to stay longer, the breakfasts were fresh, authentic and local. Davina made us feel extra special by getting some vegan treats for me and my wife. Our room was spacious with a bath in the washroom, something I always appreciate after a days hiking. Davina had lots of hints on things in the local area and we had a great experience investigating the hidden waterfalls and exploring the local iberian and roman ruins. There are a couple of great restaurants in town that Davina recommended, we would have loved to try the set meal at La Era but we didnt get an opportunity. Hopefully next time!

We were recommended a stop off here by my cousin as we were travelling from Cadiz to Murcia which was too far to do in a day.

This was perfect as it gave an extremely comfortable stopover but also a very interesting one. Our hosts were very helpful in pointing out the places to visit, times of opening etc. It also meant we stayed away from motorways and travelled through the countryside and very peaceful less busy roads.

Highlights of our stay were the lovely breakfasts and the pool which provide some very pleasant down time.

Highly recommended even if it’s off your planned route.

La Era is a delight. Divinia and Raul gave every effort to make our stay with them the very best it could be. The food, the ambience, the high quality of the linen and towels - everything has been considered and is attended to with a lovely detail that all serves up the very best experience for the very fortunate guest who finds their way to this wonderous small Hot el in the very nice village of Almedinilla.

Room tip: Splash out on a superior specification

We stayed for 3 nights as a break from our tour of the touristy cities like Sevilla, Granada before heading up to the North of Spain and by the end of the stay we were wishing we had booked more days. Davinia & Raúl were friendly and gracious hosts who offered us many tips of things to see in the nearby areas. There was a lot of attractions and small towns nearby that are easily accessible by car. We lamented that we did not just make their place our home base for exploring cities like Cordoba and Granada as they were also just a short car ride away.

We had originally intended to bus here but found that you can rent a car at Granada airport for 3 days ( automatic) for only 22 euros! We were so glad that we did rent the car because the surrounding areas are so beautiful to explore by car.

The rooms were impeccably clean and the breakfast each morning was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Each morning they bring out a different type of olive oil produced in the region along with many other goodies. We hope to come back and stay here longer on our next trip to Spain and can't recommend the place enough!

We stayed here for a week as the central location enabled us to travel to places without too much trouble, and without moving hotels all the time. The location is lovely and very quiet, with great views over the local hills. The hotel is very smartly presented, very very clean, and our hosts, Davinia & Raúl, could not have helped more, with maps and information on local sites and restaurants. The rooms are very nice and comfortable (we stayed in the “Arbolé” one), and there is excellent wifi too. We never used the swimming pool, but that was only because we were always late back! Breakfasts are excellent, fruit, juice, yoghurt, something like ham or cheese or eggs with bread and wonderful olive oil, coffee/tea and a sweet pastry. Everything is fresh and organic, well-presented and very tasty. Breakfast starts at 9 but it can be taken earlier by prior arrangement. Davinia & Raúl will cook dinner too by prior arrangement which is also excellently cooked (we only did it once due to our sightseeing programme!). There are many interesting places to visit nearby, before going off to the well-known towns, and we managed both. We would totally recommend this hotel; it was a wonderful stay!
