Our Host, Francesco, was very helpful and responded to our questions quickly. He gave us good directions for the easiest way to get to the apartment and advice where to eat out...
Very clean, spacious and modernly furnished apartment with a nice rooftop view over the city.
The location was perfect, down a quiet street yet within walking distance to all the major attractions.
The owner was very friendly and helpful both prior to and at the start of our stay.
Only thing that could have made it even better for us travelling with a small child would have been access to cot/highchair.
Situated in a quiet "calle" between the Arsenale and Piazza San Marco “la forcola” is a truly wonderful place to stay. Occupying two floors within a recently sensitively renovated historic building the apartment is well appointed and offers a high standard of comfort for six or more guests. The owner Francesco is very welcoming and the apartment provides an excellent base for exploring the Venice sites. We were very sorry to leave after a most enjoyable week at the Biennale departing in style to the airport from the private boat landing point in the garden - Barca Amore xx
The apartment is clean, quiet and spacious and is within minutes of the Canale di San Marco for all the water taxis etc. Also just a few minutes walk to the Piazza San Marco. There are some lovely little restaurants and bars close by, plus a small supermarket, and bakery for fresh croissants for breakfast! The apartment really was in a perfect position, away from the crowds yet very central. We had a lovely stay and Francesco was extremely helpful and charming.
There are quite a few stairs up to the apartment as it is on the top floor. Would definitely stay there if we are ever in Venice again.

Appartamento 'la forcola' was by far the best place we stayed in our recent visit to Italy.
It was perfect for our family of five (two adults and three children from 11 to 17 years old).
The place is big enough to accommodate two families. It is within a few minutes of walking distance to Sam Marco so you can easily get there day and night.
The kitchen had everything that was needed for our family, and the host Francesco is just a wonderful person who was very flexible with our arrangements, e.g. dropping our luggage earlier etc.
