My husband and myself and another couple stayed for 6 day at Tilly's House at the beginning of April 2015 and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The correspondence with the owner was always prompt and helpful. Once in Venice we followed her suggestions and took the #1 vaporetto from St Lucia train station to the Rialto bridge stop and walked the 100m to Campo San Salvatore where she met us at the Rolex store and walked the next 50ft to the apartment.
First off, if you've never been to Venice it is a walking city. This apartment is in the center of everything! I couldn't believe how lucky we got with Tilly's House. Even though it was centrally located, it was still very quiet. Up several flights of stairs, the apartment was obviously recently restored and very well done. One bedroom has an en suite with a small stand up shower and the other bathroom had a tub with a hand held shower head, all very European. Both bathrooms had a bidet if you like those. The kitchen was small but well appointed. The living room was comfortable and the WiFi sufficient. The beds were some of my favorite things about the apartment! So much of our travel in Europe means sleeping in a "queen" bed which really means sleeping in two twins pushed together and falling through the crack! These were real queen beds and the linens were delicious. We spent so much of our time exploring the city at the end of the day comfortable beds were heaven.
In summary this apartment was a total win. The Pros: Great location, newly renovated, well appointed, great beds, very clean, perfect for two couples. None of these were Cons with our group but I only point these as potentials for others: Stairs (at least three flights), small kitchen, small shower, tankless hot water a little slow (sometimes hard to get the temp in the shower just right).
All in all, I would confidently recommend this apartment. Don't forget to save some Euro at the end of the trip for City hotel tax (2.50Euro per person, per day).
I'd be happy to reply to any questions you might have about our stay at Tilly's House.
