“Couldn't recommend highly enough!”

Such a unique place to stay - loved every minute! Booked as a quiet weekend away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life and was not dissapointed. Graham and Jackie were great hosts and gave us a warm welcome and showed us around their house and grounds. Accomodations was great - cosy, quiet and the perfect place to relax - the balcony overlooks the Cheviots. Excellently located for many tourist attractions with Cragside only 5 mins away and not to be missed.

Will definitely be returning!

Liked best: the fact that there was so much private space for 2 people, not only inside, but also outside.
Liked least: Absolutely nothing except for the house being kind of opposite the main house and some people might have issue with privacy, but we didn`t feel like this was a big issue.

Management Response

Thank you very much for your generous review. We are really pleased that you appreciated what the Coach House has to offer. You are quite right about the images online as they do not show the new extension to the decking. We shall take some more photographs when the leaves are on the trees and the flowers are out. Lovely to have met you and we hope that you do return. Graham and Jackie

“Another great stay at the beautifully located Coach House.”

We have just enjoyed another great stay at the Coach House.

Having been there in winter and summer we feel it is a perfect retreat and return year after year to enjoy it, and we do every time.

After reading a recent review, we felt propelled to respond.

Addressing the comment to being overlooked by the main house, this is simply untrue, we have never felt any intrusion at all.

We also have not felt the need for a dishwasher, given its size and there being only two of us, 2 plates, 2 cups, etc. not a problem at all!

The bathroom accommodates all needs, yes the bath is small but having a seat you can still sit and have a soak.

We were asked about a sofa, but find the 3 easy chairs more than adequate for our needs and have not problem putting our feet up on the comfy bed.

Finally, you cannot compare the Coach House to a hotel room, the beautiful location far outweighs any size matters.

The Coach House is what it is, a lovely, cosy retreat with fantastic views and wildlife, with the added bonus that it is easy to look after during your stay.

We highly recommend it!!!

Thank you Jackie & Graham.

See you next time.

“Fabulous little gem in a great location for seeing Northumberland delights”

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for his 40th Birthday in December, with our two Beagles Parker and Stella.

The coach house is a great place to base from, we did some lovely sight seeing and walking around the areas. It is also very close to Rothbury so a trip to Cragside is a must! One of my favourite places to visit.

The accommodation was perfect for us, very clean and had everything you need for in a quaint conversion. The kitchen had all and more, the shower was nice and powerful (welcoming after a cold walking day) and the owners left a great amount of information which we found useful including recommendations for walks and eating out.

A previous review stated it felt as though you were overlooked by the main house and although it is adjacent (and down a bit), it is over a dirt track road and on an angle so we didn't feel overlooked at all, it was nice and private and has wonderful views and a great garden.
