Stunning apartment in the middle of the delightful village of Laxey. Exceedingly well equipped with everything you could need for a stay on the Isle of Man. Elegantly maintained and very comfortable. Very sweet little touches such as a bowl of muffins and donuts were a unexpected surprise!
Laxey itself is perfectly located with excellent public transport links and several local attractions.
Thank you Claire, for making our stay so perfect.
Good location, stylish, modern, comfortable, very clean, excellent host, delicious welcoming food package.
Claire has done a wonderful job in making the Salmon River Appt. as comfortable and well stocked as possible, six of us chose to stay here as base for the Raad Ny Foillan, after a long days walking knowing there would comfy and well equipped apartment certainly helped relax the limbs for the next days adventure.
There is even a first class drying room (we didn't need it, thankfully) but would have been perfect, if we had.
I really can't fault this property from the ever so welcoming welcome pack, pretty much all you needed for day one breakfast through to evening meal, with the added bonus of a large selection of cakes just to help you settle....
The local convenience store is only 200 meters away for any restock needed
All in all a wonderful stay on a wonderful island.
This apartment is in a fantastic village location, with local attractions nearby worth a visit. The village also has a great little co-op and post office etc, along with a lovely tea shop above the woollen mill.
The apartment is finished to a superb finish, with lots of homely extras. The facilities are to an excellent standard and we have never had such a beautiful thought out welcome pack, including some lovely cakes.
It is so good we have booked to return next year and the owner is extremely helpful.
A very successful family break started with a calm, civilized ferry crossing from Dublin and walking into the welcoming and stylish Hayloft apartment on Easter Sunday (family of 2 adults/2 kids on a first visit to the Isle of Man). The building has a great feel to it, stone walls, windows all round, high ceilings, deep windowsills, views of the river, sounds of the church and the vintage rail car trundling on both sides (trainspotter heaven!). The place was super clean, the linen and toiletries hotel quality, and the welcome pack very generous (even the Easter bunny visited!). All the kitchen equipment, helpful guide to the area, brochures, games and drawing paper/pencils were much appreciated and made life easier! Being able to walk to the beach, the station, the shops and the biggest working water wheel in the world (!) makes it even more appealing from a family point of view. Laxey is a perfect base for exploring the island (by car, foot, electric train and steam-train)... even made it comfortably to the other side of the island for a sunset dinner in a great fishy restaurant in Peel (The Boatyard- highly recommend). We usually do a lot of research before booking anywhere and believe Salmon River Apartments was was definitely worth the extra money and is probably the most stylish place to stay on the island!
