We had a Premium Bay view room which was surprisingly small with the result that one bumped into the TV, suspended on the wall, as one got out of bed and moved to the bathroom.
The room was up two flights of narrow stairs which we had not been warned about but the receptionist kindly carried our cases upstairs when we arrived and a member of the bar staff brought them down when we left. We had been sent a welcome letter with information regarding meal times and directions to reach the hotel - very clear. However we had not been given the essential information of how to access the Internet nor that in order to switch off the bedroom lights your key card must be placed in a slot by the door. A member of the night staff came upstairs to demonstrate when we enquired. In America a key card activates the lights on entry but this was a somewhat different set up!
The evening main course, turbot, was perfectly cooked and the presentation and accompaniments delicious. The dessert menu was very limited and disappointing. The panacotta was presented in a glass like a portion of blancmange - no delicate wobble on a flat plate!
The setting is perfect with easy access to the beach and sea. Overall the staff compensated for any culinary or residential shortcomings despite the fact that they were very busy.More
