This place was our favourite 5 nights of our month in the Philippines! We didn't leave the whole time, it's paradise.
The views are just stunning! I really enjoyed watching the sunset from the pool each evening, with a happy hour cocktail. Mel is an amazing cook, I throughly enjoyed every meal (just be sure to order a few hours ahead of time as it's operated as a private kitchen). Really fresh and tasty.
The staff are amazing! Really friendly and helpful.
The wifi was the best we had experienced in the whole of our travels through the Philippines. As we are digital nomads this was really great for us!
As there are only 5 villas, it can feel like you have the whole place to yourself at times.
We loved everything and really hope to come back!

Stayed here in sept 2018 for five days with Arnold, Mel, and their team. We had the place to ourselves and it was fantastic. The property itself is beautiful, the views out over the bay are spectacular, we stayed next door in busuanga bay lodge for a couple of nights before coming here, and I feel Arnold has made a far better job of utilising the views of the bay than they have despite the fact the two properties are right beside one another.
This place has not been designed to run as a hotel and Arnold makes this clear but it does offer full catering throughout your stay, staff are on hand all day to provide drinks from their bar area next to the pool, including happy hour, and there are a variety of island hopping tours that can be organised - the food is lovely; home cooked, fresh meals. This sort of means the place does effectively feel like a small boutique hotel rather than serviced apartments. I mean there isn't really a shop I could see where you could go buy your own things to eat drink etc within walking distance. Not that this will effect the quality of your stay as everything you need is available to buy at reasonable enough hotel like prices - just thought I would highlight that to anyone trying to make an informed decision.
Arnold really is a very good host - that is probably of the main benefits of staying here, anything you want he can organise. Wifi on the property is good and we had a large tv in the apartment we stayed in with lots of channels, I highlight this as a big plus as the bay is a little quiet at night!
Coron is decent boat or taxi journey and is not easily accessible for nightlife. In staying that though we were tired after the island hopping tours so this wasn't too much of an issue for us.
All in all I would recommend this place if you want beautiful surroundings, peace and quiet, and want to go island hopping. The tours offered are very reasonable and the highlight of our stay here - the triangle tour was the best of the three we went on.
Joanna who seems to be the main member of the staff team is excellent and works morning to night. She seems to take on a lot around the place thought I would give special mention to her as she is a credit to ekhaya and it didn't go unnoticed.

We cannot say enough about Arnold and Mel's beautiful property, amazing staff, and delicious food!
The staff, like Joana and Ara, at Ekhaya Busuanga are very attentive to all of our needs, always delivered with a smile, and we felt very well taken care of during our stay.
The food was beyond measure of delicious. Mel's kitchen delivers food that took our taste buds to a whole new level. If you do book with them, we highly suggest you order the Durban Curry Crab. It was simply amazing!
The grounds are beautifully and well maintained. We miss the flowers and rows of greenery lining the steps. The view from this place is simply breathtaking. We stayed at the Pavillion, and each morning, we woke up to the most beautiful sunrises. We had the best relaxing sleep we've had in years. We enjoyed spectacular sunsets at happy hour by the bar or pool. The sounds of nature, like the cooing of a gecko, or the chirping of birds are the soundtrack to the magnificent view.
This place was the retreat of all retreats. We were quite sad to leave, and we miss Ekhaya very much. We highly recommend you book your stay in Busuanga with Arnold and Mel if you are going to Coron. Our review are mere words compared to the marvel that you'll have to experience yourself.
Thank you Arnold and Mel, to the staff, Ara and Joana, and the cute lovable pups Shaka and Zulu for a memorable stay!
We stayed a total of nine nights at Ekhaya and enjoyed every minute of it! Think of Ekhaya as something half way between an airbnb and serviced apartments, the facilities are not like a hotel resort but more of a private villa carefully divided into private units. The owners run a very tidy operation - smaller size resort means they can offer their guests a personalised experience. High quality personalised experience.
Service provided by staff is outstanding, they were very attentive to our needs and offered flexibility throughout our stay to make sure we were having a good time. Worth mentioning is staff was not intrusive, they adapted to us and we liked that.
The private kitchen results in delicious food with many healthy and vegetarian options available - but also pizzas, curries, mango shakes etc. The accommodation is equally good, rooms were very clean, the view over the bay is incredible! Many activities organised/offered by Ekhaya: diving, island-hoping, canoeing, chilling by the pool for sunset, it’s all there. There's a pretty good dive center next door and they’re just a stone’s throw away - everything you need to dive the Japanese wrecks.
To sum up, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, would recommend to family/friends and would love to go back on our next holiday.
TLDR = Outstanding service from staff. Great food, loads of activities including diving. Ekhaya offers breath-taking views of the bay. It’s upmarket and we loved it, highly recommended.
If you want a peaceful place to stay you have found it. You won’t find anything better on the island!
