It was great to come back to this pub after it had been shut for so long. Extensive menu (though issues with some dishes not been available due to nationwide delivery problems). Other options were advised and the bar tender Megan was brilliant. Food came quickly and tasted lovely. Will definitely be back soon.

We used to love this place, food was great and plenty of it, but not anymore.
Really pleased to see this place had opened again after the fire a couple of years ago and couldn’t wait to go back.
Waited over an hour for our food to arrive ( two types of burger) and was disappointed by its appearance to start with, a bit of side salad or coleslaw would have made it a little more appetising rather than just a plate with a burger and a little pot of chips.
The chips were chunky triple cooked when the menu said they should be fries.
Neither of us got the serving of sticky BBQ sauce that should have accompanied the meal.
The burger and chips was tepid.
The menu displays a ‘Veggie Burger’ and apparently there is a ‘Moving Mountain’ or a ‘Louisiana’ but the only description is for the ‘Loisianna’ and when I ordered a veggie burger I wasn’t asked which one I wanted and I don’t actually know what it was that I ate!
We both wanted a pudding but as the main course had taken an hour and a half, we decided we didn’t have time to wait any longer, paid and left.
We realise they have only been open a week and everything is new but why not open with fewer covers until everyone gets up to speed and knows what they are doing? Working at full capacity straight away will obviously bring in more profits but the poor service and mediocre food may mean customers may only come once so it’s a false economy.
Really disappointed as we used to love the ‘old’ Stork.

Just got back from The Stork. If you remember this place as serving really good food then forget it you are wasting your time and money.

Just waited 50 minutes for lukewarm burgers. Not as described on the menu. The menu mentions two Veggie burgers and then describes one in detail but not mentioning the other. And guess which one you end up with?

Service was terrible, staff who clearly had no idea of what ‘service’ means. Headless chickens. The App works from home but not on site. I was told by the staff that they weren’t told about the App until after they had gone live and someone asked where their food was!!

I understand ‘Covid’ and supply issues but …….

There are obviously so many issues with Stonegate chain of pubs that they have turned off comments on their online feedback survey.

Truly terrible experience.

Been to the stork some years ago, full of charm, nice food, good service. Visited bank holiday Monday, hardly recognised the place. Completely refurbished but very nicely done. Booked a table for dinner on Wednesday Was so looking forward to this. Omg never in my life have I encountered such mismanaged chaos. Arrived and told we can either order at the bar or ‘give us a shout’ ?? Went to the bar to order a drink as no waitress in sight. Felt a bit uncomfortable with this but we gave the waitress ‘a shout ‘ and she took our order. Ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir which was brought, plonked down with the lid on and two glasses and waitress promptly left!, no words!!! Ok, we poured our own and it was fine. Our main course then took over 40 minutes to arrive! Food, I have to say was very nice but trying to catch the attention of a waitress was nigh on impossible. One waitress spent our entire visit polishing cutlery whilst customers either waited for food or for their tables to be cleared. In times of Covid surely cutlery should go straight from the dishwasher to the Tray!!! Finally, someone came to clear our table and we asked to order dessert. Fine says she, but never returned. Again after much gesturing we attracted the attention of another waitress and ordered dessert. Another 45 minutes wait!! Meanwhile all 3 waitresses and waiter congregated around a computer screen looking bemused whilst unattended customers waited. Had to go to the bar again to pay our bill as again unable to catch the eye of a waitress. No masks worn by any member of staff, no soap in the ladies loos, no sign of any sanitising by staff going between customers. First time in our life we have never left a tip but if I have to leave one it’s turn me off your computer screen and look at your customers!!! So disappointing.

I wrote an honest and genuine review yesterday and it appeared on Trip Advisor but now it’s disappeared so here we go again!

Booked a table for two for Sunday lunchtime, paid a £10 deposit but when we arrived the staff had no booking!

This is first time returning to The Stork since the unfortunate fire. The pub used to be traditional, lots of character and charm… now it resembles a Wetherspoons or Yates.

We were told there were no steaks as problem with delivery, we were told only pork and beef were available (no lamb or turkey) for the Sunday lunch. Again when trying to order extra portion of cauliflower cheese we we were told this also hadn’t been delivered…alarm bells started ringing. How difficult is it to boil cauliflower and make a cheese sauce?

I ordered roast beef Sunday lunch, husband ordered fish and chips, mushy peas and bread and butter. We waited 40 minutes, we understand about the issues with hospitality being understaffed so waited very patiently. Food arrived…no mushy peas as they didn’t have any, no bread and butter, we had to remind them. Fish and chips…frozen and cooked…chips were soggy oven chips, fish was greasy the meal had to be returned. Manager offered a refund for meal. Sunday lunch - grey, chewy beef, the mash, roasties, Yorkshire pudding and veg were frozen and microwaved,. This is not home cooked food, this food would not look out of place on a Wetherspoons table!

If you want good, tasty, full of flavour meals go elsewhere, if you enjoy frozen and microwaved food, you will enjoy eating here!
