Bought a salad sandwich on the way through Kingston and when I went to eat it the sandwich felt quite light so I opened it and was shocked to find a 1/3rd slice of a very small tomato, 1 slice of cucumber, 1 small slice of an egg, a piece of cheese, slice of ham, 1 leaf of lettuce & a small bit of dressing. But no butter or margarine. It was $5 so I was completely ripped off.

I know this is a new business since the old cafe closed so I'm hoping the improvements are ongoing. I've stopped twice but see no need (as a local) to stop in again. The previous review was right about staff etiquette, but I'll pass on the food as i didn't buy from the cabinets.
First impressions though... Curtains are for houses not corner shops. They make the shop look damp and mouldy, just how it is from my perspective looking in. I can't look at that and feel happy buying food.
A better solution, and i hope you will, is cover the windows with pinhole graphics, let light in, hide the rubbish view. First impressions count and they're not great. If you reply with excuses then i hold no hope for what was is Kingston's first impression, just annoying to drive by it every day looking so drab. Here's hoping i can edit my review soon!

Excellent date scones and tea here at a well-situated little café on a corner of the lake. Super little suntrap out the back was a lovely place to relax. Earl Grey tea was a nice bonus!
