What a lovely surprise this little café was, on the corner of the main road from Queenstown to Te Anau at Kingston. We stopped for a coffee break and breakfast for my son who hadn't been feeling well. It's sort of homely but with very good facilities - a nice size dining area, a well-stocked souvenir/gifts section, a mini-grocery section, they really had everything you could need whilst travelling on the road. The ladies behind the counter were friendly and the food was really good, my son really enjoyed his scrambled eggs on toast and iced caramel drink. My husband & I had cappuccinos (excellent) and shared a freshly baked Savoury Scone, it was delicious. Excellent restroom facilities, they also have a nice little bar and their Facebook page says they are also a Post Office.

It's an okay place to stop in to have a bite but the food is a bit reminiscent of airplane food - one of the least inspiring stops of our trip. I'd suggest stopping by the road and having a picnic instead.

We were travelling from Queenstown to Te Anau and on the lookout for somewhere to grab a bite to eat when we came across this place, about 30 minutes from Queenstown. We were so pleased that we decided to stop. The food was lovely - the chicken, corn and tomato spicy soup really hit the spot - and the place was really cosy.

We also grabbed some of their homemade cakes for the remainder of the journey - well it would've been rude to!

If you are ever passing you'd be missing out if you didn't call in.

Called in for afternoon tea ... Great coffee and excellent home made sweets and scones. Loved the free wifi too, and the toilets are so wonderfully clean! Might sound weird, but if the toilets are clean it is good reflection of their attitude to everything else. Friendly staff and plenty of parking... Highly recommend breaking your journey here

We called in here today as we made our way from Wanaka to Te Anau. I had the nachos and the girls both had toasted sandwiches. My nachos were really, really good and the girls both enjoyed their toasted sandwiches. The coffee was also very good as was the service. The price was fair. Excellent toilets! Great place for a pit stop.
