We had a great day snorkelling with Yukon Dive to the Poor Knights Islands. We had two really long snorkels and saw tonnes of fish each time. The trip was mixed between divers and snorkelers, but this did not cause a problem, we were well looked after. Saw the most fish I have ever seen in NZ. The boat was really good, it was very easy to get both on and off - the best designed boat I have experienced in NZ or in the Pacific. (I don't know why another reviewer was whinging about no lunch - it was clear there was no lunch so we brought our own, and had the things we wanted to eat - better than some crap lunch being included in the price).

When the Mrs told me that she had booked for me to do some dives out at Poor Knights, and that she and our three children, 7, 5 & 2, were joining us I was a little skeptical. Children on a dive boat for the day? I really wasn't sure this was a good idea.
However, what a day we all had. It has been 14 years since my last dive in NZ and the dives with guide Rachel, were awesome. She set out the plan for the dive, assured us of what we could expect with regards to fish, caves and what to do if we were uncomfortable with any part of the dive.
As for the children, Noel and Jo made sure they were as part of the day out as everyone else. Our eldest two enjoyed some snorkeling whilst I was diving and the youngest bobbed about on her little inflatable and they each had a turn as co-pilot on deck.
We visited Riko Riko cave which was great, amazing acoustics and worth a visit.
All in all, it was a great day out that the whole family will remember.
I highly recommend!!!

We had a fantastic dive with Yukon dive staff during our stay in New Zealand. We enjoyed the small-sized group of people, the autonomy we were given, the quality of the equipment and the safety provided during the day.

Excellent couple of days diving with Yukon! Jo was quick to respond to our enquiry via the website and very friendly and helpful. Skippers Noël and Glenn did a cracking job picking the best sites for the conditions and giving a full and detailed description of the dive sites. The Poor Knights are amazing, made even better by being in a small group of divers on a great boat. Oh and Rachel makes the best cup of tea.
