We got an upgrate to a refurbished room on the front side of the hotel. The room was really nice, bathroom still a little bit dated. The staff of the hotel is very friendly. Internet was a little bit of a hassle but it is free and available. The restaurant in the hotel is really good. The food was amazing so was the coffee. Perfect location, beautiful coast and close to Whangarei.

If you were to put a hotel at one of New Zealand’s prettiest locations then this is it. We stayed in the family room which is well appointed and perfectly set up for a family vacation. The beds are comfy and the room quite large. The only negative is the ceiling is a little thin and can hear those above walking on the hard floor.

Had a very spacious king room facing the Marina . Very clean and tidy. Bathroom was a huge room , because it was a mobility access one. Was serviced daily, and tea/coffee making supplies topped up daily. Staf at reception very helpful. Trouble getting WIFI connection, so Manager came to our room and sorted my computer out. Lovely peaceful setting. Might be busier and noisier in summer.

Room tip: Rooms being updated/modernised, Our room very acceptable and adequate. All rooms should be done in next few months, I think

The room, an apartment style, was immaculate apart from the shower. I think they had missed it in the clean. It looked out over the pool and car park with easy access to the patio. The rooms on the other side would have a spectacular outlook but are not apartment style.
Tutukaka was very quiet when we were there but I'm sure it is humming with boaties and diving trips in summer.
There is a great bar/restaurant along from the hotel with lots of atmosphere and nice food. The hotel lacked a bit of character but was fine for a night.
