Stayed at the hostel with friends over Easter and had a great time. Cozy living room, comfy, spacious beds with very cool shelves made out of skateboards :-), the best water pressure I ever had in a hostel, but most of all the fantastic hosts Michael and Lucy: thank you guys for an awesome weekend, it was lovely meeting you and great staying with you!

On the occasion we visited (mid-summer), this big old house had just the four of us to spread out over its many rooms. It was homely accommodation, with simple furnishing and eclectic decoration. The hosts are very friendly and we loved their beagles. A great place to relax and unwind. Fabulous value for money.

Nice place to stay! VERY friendly hosts and the backpacker accommodation is up to spec with no shortage of hot water. Large cosy fire to dry our ski gear and warm ourselves after a hard day on the mountain. We will consider staying again.

We have stayed here more than once and we are not big skiers. This time we were hoping to walk the Tongariro Crossing and the hosts checked out the weather radar for us. They told us that of all days that week, we had picked the right one. They were spot on and we did not even ask for this service! We had a fabulous trek and when we got back, the fire was roaring and we were able to dry all our gear. We were sorted for transport at either end but they would have provided that service too I reckon!
The next day they took us fishing (at our request) and we caught our first trout ever; five minutes later we caught our second!
