This motel is well placed before the last leg driving to Auckland, or just after coming over the Bombay Hills driving south. Staff are friendly in this newly built motel. There's a good restaurant serving hearty food alongside.

It has been years since I have been through Pokeno. Modern, clean and tidy rooms. Awesome host. All within walking distance to the Countdown Supermarket. Other shops, bakery, liquor outlet if that is your thing.

Good clean comfortable room with the added bonus of a luxury spa bath all for just $140.00 per night for 2 adults. Super easy to find as well which was a god send for us folk from Taranaki , about 3kms off the Waikato Express Way . AAA+++

My boyfriend booked a room at the Pokeno Motel recently for us to stay on our way down the country. Motel was very noisy with big trucks arriving to the Motel at all hours, and then other truck drivers leaving at all hours, - ....more truck noise ! No Air Conditioning (hot or cold) either in the rooms, just basic wall heaters that took ages to heat up (....not good on a chilly night !) Not worth the $140.00 they charge per night
Room tip: Not worth the rates

Big, well appointed rooms. Fantastic bar and restaurant with massive meals. Able to give great advice on local golf courses. Only thing I would say, is please put a sign for the spa bath switch. Very friendly owners and staff. Very close to the major motor racing courses in the area.
