A real Spanisch white pueblo house. Small rooms but with 3 bedrooms, a good kitchen en a good bathroom we enjoyed the house enormously. EVERYTHING was there. All was thought of! Just wonderful.
The marble stairs felt a bit tricky but we left a lamp on at night and it was oké. We had a wonderful time in the house and just loved the marvelous view from the terrace.
Dear Libby and sisters, thank you for giving us the opportunity of renting your place!

Hi Andrew,
I'm glad you all had such a good time at the house. We love the village and try to get out there as often as we can. Thanks for such a good review. Did you manage to go horse riding in the end?
Best wishes,
Libby

“Authentic Spanish Village”

We have stayed in Casa Alegria several times and love its cosy and homely feel. This was our first trip outside the main summer period and we still found so much to do. The house is well located within the village and within easy walking distance of local bars and restaurants where we are always made very welcome, despite our limited Spanish skills! It's a great base for local walking, or exploring further afield. We would recommend visiting the lakes at Ardales, El Chorro gorge, or the old town at Rhonda. Our friends went riding with 'Ride with Me', whilst we caught the train to Malaga from Pizzara for a day of shopping. So much to do in the area, but always lovely to come back to this little gem or a house. We will be back!

“Great house, comfortable, everything you need”
Reviewed 8 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

This was my second stay at Casita Alegria, the first being September 2013 when the weather was much warmer. November can be quite cold but once the log burner is lit the house takes no time to heat through and is really cosy and warm for those evenings in. I enjoy staying at the house and in Casarabonela. The house is very well equipped, I enjoy cooking and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The owners have catered for most interests, ie television (you can get a number of English speaking channels), DVDs, board games and books. I can't fault it. Oh and it has an amazing shower - important! A great place to stay both in summer and winter months.

The village is really friendly and welcoming. We ate at Bar Nuevo (by the town hall), this was my third visit to this bar for food and it gets better every time. The generosity of the proprietor is amazing, providing a tapas of soft cheese and crackers while we decided - our main course was then followed by a mini magnum ice cream and a bottle of licor - this was left on the table for us to enjoy at no extra cost ... and of course the food was fantastic. I would definitely recommend a visit.

I returned to Casita Alegria based my previous experience, I could not fault anything within the house or the village. With this visit I knew what I was getting and felt very comfortable staying there.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Casita Alegria and the village as a place to stay for anyone who wants to experience more of the real Spain.

Liked best: Traditional village house and location
Liked least: Probably that the terrace is on different level to the kitchen. Not a huge problem though and wouldn't put me off.

“Great for a weekend getaway or a family holiday.”
Reviewed 6 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Property is in great location near to centre of village with easy access to shops, restaurants, bars and swimming pool (although not open in May). Although, roads very steep in places so would not be good for old people or people with disabilities. Plenty of good walks from village without need to drive. Ardales Lakes about 30 min drive away is good for swimming/canoeing/walking/site seeing. People in village very friendly albeit that few speak any english. Having said that you can get by with very limited spanish.

Property is clean and tidy, although fairly small. Despite this it can comfortably accomodate a family. Great views from first floor terrace despite recently built extension next door.
