Our group of 10, ranging from 4 - 40 had an amazing time at Red Rock Trails. Weather was lush and the area had so many beautiful spots to explore and enjoy. Really friendly welcome and delicious home cooked food, great local knowledge/guiding/activity planning and brilliant value for money. Would highly recommend!

I stayed four nights at Red Rock Trails. This wasn't enough. Loved every moment. Cycling is fantastic. The food, all home cooked is amazing. So much to see & do. Heather, Chris, Dan & Iona can't do enough.

One of our best holidays ever!

We had a brilliant week of family adventures and cycling in beautiful Catalonia with Red Rock Trails in July 2017. We loved everything about the time - the relaxed family vibe, friendly and clued-up hosts, newly renovated farmhouse, great locally sourced food and drink - the only drawback was one week was too short, the time flew by so fast!

Our three children settled in immediately and enjoyed exploring different places in the foothills of the Pyrenees each day, sometimes by bike and sometimes with a short car journey. There's loads of simple, kid-friendly things to do and visit nearby, as well as the history, geology, towns, villages, mountains and vineyards which could occupy the adults for months... It's only a couple of hours drive from Barcelona, but the area feels very quiet and charming, untouristy and unspoiled - not to mention the great climate and stunning scenery of hills and valleys rolling away to the mountains. Weather-wise it was nice and warm (25-30C) during our stay, so we all loved cooling off each afternoon in an amazing array of waterholes - from the local slimming pool, to lakes, rivers, rockpools and even the odd watering trough!

Early evening tapas was served outdoors in the courtyard, with drinks (all included!) before delicious home-cooked dinner, sourced locally, all prepared in-house by the hosts (who bent over backwards to fit all our tastes, wishes and the children's whims!) and presented beautifully with wines from the local vineyard.

Booking and planning was really straight forward with quick replies to emails and loads of helpful suggestions too. Having locally-based English speaking hosts fluent in Catalan /Spanish made deciding what to do each day really easy, sometimes coming too, sometimes showing us the way, other times just preparing bikes/lunch and pointing us in the right direction, their practical and unfussy approach was what made the break into a holiday!

We were tipped off about Red Rock Trails by mutual friends, it feels like we've made new friends, we'll definitely be going back and whole-heartedly recommend it!

Room tip: Family friendly activity holidays - especially cycling - staying with a family in their refurbished farmhouse
