Well I've got to say that the person who wrote the last review must have been to Vall de Cavall on a bad day or they have no taste buds! I'm sitting here now in this beautiful restaurant have consumed a perfect meal and I've got to say I feel at peace with the world. Couldn't recommend the restaurant highly enough for the location, ambience and food.

We were introduced to this restaurant by somewhat embarrassed friends yesterday. The setting and facilities are stunning but the food simply does not measure up to even the most basic standards. We all ate from the menu del dia. What we got consisted of passable starters - goat cheese salad and gazpacho. But the main courses totally failed to deliver. The pork medallions were overcooked and dry and curled at the edges, making them tough. The beef was unrecognisable as any sort of beef. It had been boiled without any flavouring until it was stringy and grey. A thin tasteless parsley sauce did nothing to disguise or enhance it. The desserts were prettily presented but the fruit tart (a filo pastry basket filled with a lot of aerosol cream and very few pieces of marinaded fruit) lacked taste and depth and the chocolate ice cream looked suspiciously as though it had come from my local supermarket. At €17.50 the menu del dia is expensive for the area. To be honest, I have paid a lot less and eaten far better. What a wasted opportunity to create something really magical.

Had a great "Menu del dia" there with friends. Although it is a riding school which might put people off the restaurant is lovely, nice setting overlooking the pool. Food good and well presented and the menu del dia is well priced. Staff helpful and friendly.

I cannot believe that we have lived in the area for more than 13 years and have never been here before, even though we live near to (and have visited) their sister restaurant RESTAURANTE MASENA on the CV740 in Benitachell !!

This place is a delight ............the choice of food was great for a lunchtime menu del dia @ 17.50 euros pp, the service was impeccable, surroundings stunning and very relaxing, house wine was lovely and the place had a good ambiance . This place is a stud farm but don't let that put you off, as the restaurant and stables are situated in acres of rolling, peaceful countryside where you can experience fine dining and not be hurried.

Our party of 4 all agreed that it was the best meal we have ever had in Spain. We booked well in advance ( they are closed Mondays) and all chose from the menu del dia which included a glass of wine, beer or water. The starters were watermelon gazpacho, courgette soup, goats cheese salad or pate.......my goats cheese salad not only looked good but was a splurge of colour, textures and tastes augmented by different types of nuts, fruits of the forest and a lovely balsamic dressing. Also included was a warm bread roll each with butter and alioli. For mains I had a lovely piece of sea bream with vegetables, but there was also cod in tomato sauce, chicken and pork. Dessert was a choice of chocolate tart, ice cream or strawberry tart but as the latter had run out we were offered crepe with fruit and cream. The house white wine was a steal at 10.18 euros and altogether with a litre of water ( 3.20 euros) plus 3 coffees and 1 tea, the bill for 4 was 92 euros, which we thought was very reasonable for the quality of the food, service and surroundings.

We cannot wait to return.........in fact, we didn't want to leave !! The place is just off the N332 in Gata, behind the ceramic shop called LA BARRACA................try it..........you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Great setting, good service, adult food delicious but felt €15 for an overcooked child's steak & chips was overpriced
