Stayed a second time in Memmelsdorf and enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. Rooms are a good size, beds are comfortable and it is very clean. There is a great patio/restaurant out back. The food is absolutely delicious and it looks like everyone from town comes to eat there. It was always busy. The town is quiet and charming. Glad we have been able to return to this little gem.

I was looking to get away for an evening and this was the perfect spot for my retreat.

Room was well appointed and spacious ( I had a double). A large table, big bed and big fluffy pillows. The bed was softer than I like and am used to but was still quite good.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Dinner in the restaurant was great and breakfast in the morning was full of options and very fresh.

We stayed here in August for the Kulmbach Zinnfiguren Boerse. it was our first stay at this hotel and we will probably stay here in future years. Our room was at the front of the hotel. We were not bothered by traffic at all since a new main road has been built about 100-200 metres in front of the hotel. The local road immediately in front of the hotel has little traffic. The hotel was cheap, 58E B&B double room per night. The self service breakfast was very generous. The evening menu was full of choice and we ate there for 2 evenings. The food was well priced and tasted good. It was very busy while we were there as the hotel was full of people also attending the Boerse and staff were very rushed off their feet during the evening. This didn't really affect us too much as we weren't in a rush to go anywhere. No problems with our room or its facilties. Plenty of room to park on the road in front of the hotel if the car park is full. There's an Edeka supermarket directly opposite the hotel and we stocked up on cheaper priced spirits, of which there was a good range. Some older buildings can be seen in the market place, so it's worth a short walk around the town. This hotel serves the tourist industry in the surrounding area well. For families, try the Sommerrodelbahn at Kronach, (something we have never seen in the UK),there's the National German Basketry Museum at Michelau, Vierzehnheiligen church, Kloster Banz, as well as the Plassenburg in Kulmbach, and if you want to drive slightly further afield there's the small village of Modlareuth with its own 'Berlin wall' (about 45 miles away). From the local station you could catch the train to Kulmbach and from there to Nurnberg for the day. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at during the 14 years we have been visiting this part of northern Bavaria.
