We stayed 7 nights in early June and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Masseria San Domenico . We had travelled direct from Naples airport and were warmly greeted on arrival. Our 1st floor (there are only 2 floors) junior suite was exactly what we had expected and the fact that it had 2 bathrooms (one with shower; the other with bath, each with WC and bidet) was a bonus! The suite (windows open to a large balcony) was large and airy with 2 TV's although a criticism is that none of the programmes were in English (US, UK or otherwise) which was frustrating, especially as there was a General Election going on at home. The buildings are spread out (there are only 40 suites and rooms) so you do need to be prepared to walk a lot but the restaurant and bars were well away from the bedrooms so noise levels were zero, except in the early morning when our neighbours felt it necessary to speak loudly on their mobiles on their adjacent terrace! Breakfast (either in your room, inside or outside overlooking the orchard) was excellent with plenty of choice on the buffet and good service throughout. Much of their fruit (figs, olives, apricots etc) is produced on site so was fresh and a joy to consume. You can have an excellent buffet lunch (40 euros each) overlooking the very large sea water swimming pool which is usually empty of people, especially as this is an adults only (minimum age 16) hotel so their are no children at all! Unfortunately we weren't so impressed with the dinner menu which was too restrictive for us (we don't eat shell fish which is very popular in Puglia) and just couldn't eat the main course (turbot) which was poorly prepared. However they did cook an alternative dish (sea bass) and then reduced the bill to compensate for the disappointment. It's also possible to get the shuttle bus (or drive) a short distance to their beachfront restaurant which we did twice and although this too had too much shellfish on the menu for our tastes we enjoyed and here the meals were excellent with great service. They also have a lunchtime buffet here when there are enough guests around to justify the enormous amount of food they put out. We had the buffet here once and it was very good. The hotel also shares a beach with their sister hotel (which allows children) and whilst it had a very small beach it was near the hotel and very quiet so ideal for relaxing and the opportunity to have a swim in the sea although this was quite cold at this time of the year. The only niggle here was that whilst you can have plentiful drinks in their beach hut, the food menu (and the food itself) was appalling and needs improving so that you can have a decent snack without going back to the hotel (or to nearby Savelletri) at lunchtime.
In summary, we loved the Masseria and the excellent accommodation and staff (all of whom spoke English). Hopefully, we will return.

Room Tip: Upper floor seems best unless you have a problem coping with steep stairs. We had a junior suite with 2 bathrooms.

We visited it for a day and spent our time relaxing by the pool and food tasting.
The place is extremely calm and soothing, and the pool is great. We had lunch in that nearby area and had wine tasting.
Everything was perfect. We will come back this summer.

I have recently stayed here with my friend for a girly spa weekend. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this charming hotel. Despite some of the interiors being a little dated, the service and setting of the hotel was just delightful. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay and everyone we encountered spoke flawless English. However the spa treatments seemed a little expensive and again dated, but the spa itself was very pretty and with its own indoor pool. The swimming pool was another highlight, due to its sheer size and the fact that it was a sea water pool. The food was another high point and we thought the Mediterranean menu was a must. Locally sourced and healthy we both felt much better and lighter after our three night stay. A very relaxing stay indeed.

The hotel is very nice quiet and has a nice feeling.the welcome and service during our stay was fantastic to a point. it is an expensive hotel which you actually expect it to be more than 5 star but it is not. It missing the warmness. Our room was nice but the was no coffee machine or water. A bowl of welcome fruits was waiting. But not having a pot for tea or a coffee machine is bothering , given the distance to the bar or the kitchen, it is impossible to have coffee in the room. (once you will be there you will understand my argue!)
The second issue was that I was debited EUR 90,00 days after despite settling the account on my check out, and never received explanation. I tried twice to contact the hotel but the responsible person was not available. Sorry to say - bad taste!

Room Tip: most room are the same I just paid for the Garden suite, was not necessary.

Wow ! What a terrific hotel . Peaceful and beautifully presented. But what makes this place really special is the immaculate attention to detail of all the cheerful staff.
The spa was excellent. If your on a budget though you must realise this is an expensive place to stay . But as a treat worth every penny
