We met a couple of friends at the Osteria Ardenga to celebrate New Year's Eve, as they had been there before, and of course we trusted their recommendation. Unfortunately, finding the place was difficult, as the address was wrongly inserted into Google Maps, and we met several lost people looking for the Osteria in the centre of Soragna, when it is actually 4 Km away in the outside quater of Diolo... Luckily our friends saw us walking along the country road and picked us up!!! (It looks that this mistake has been corrected now). Anyway, we were a bit late and were worried to have missed a course or so... luckily the atmosphere was very relaxed, and noone was 'on a schedule' to get the dishes out. The restaurant is simply but freshly decorated, and has a great 'cellar' with hanging hams and other local cured meats. The family in charge shows the love for fine traditional food and is very welcoming. As starters we had some excellent local culatello and coppa and some vegetables. This was followed by tagliolini with saffran and gamberoni, risotto with truffle in parmesan basket, an unknown fish, and some lamb cutlets in pistachio crust. We were so full. The quality and flavours were very good overall. We had then panettone, some bubbly at midnight and some fruits and nuts. We had a good and very informal night with friends, didn't necessarily feel very festive, but that was totally ok. The owners even allowed our friend to open and drink her own bottle of wine... I doubt they would allow just anyone to do that (our friends had been there several times and she is a sommelier), but it is still remarkable. Thumbs up!

Ardenga is a family run place with a very interessting menu and a nice wine-list.
Service is extremely warm. The kitchen is fantastic.
We had some local ham and an 'in brodo' as starters, followed by duck and lamb. With this came a bottle of 11 years old red whine (Stoppa).
The bill came to 65 € for two.
As the place and the surroundings can hardly be called 'pretentious', we were amased to enjoy such a sophisticated experience.

Only a few miles outside of Soragna, this little restaurant has fabulous foods. THe meat choices are especially good, but you really can't go wrong with anything. If you saw Bernardo Bertolucci's La Luna you saw this traditional osteria, ask them to take you to where they have their hams stored. Better speak a little italian though

I must have been here 4-5 times in the last 3 months.... so there must be a reason.
The food is always good and tasty, I still enjoy it and the menu was slighly different. We wanted to try the gnocchi even if it was not anymore in the menu. The only thing that we did not like this time was the slow service but to be honest they were very nice as usual.

We went there purely tx to TA. We made a reservation but arrived too early. The restaurant opens at 7,30PM. The owner, very kindly, came outside and invited us in. We tried different starters but I think the home made pasta and the various meat plates, made a difference. The gnocchi were delicious, the ravioli excellence. The duck and the pork were simply delicious. The dessert reall good. We left taking with us 6 bottles of the house wine, a very nice Malvasia of the area.
I would say that the only drawback was the speed of the service once more people arrived. However this is overcome by the kindness of the owner.
Overall it is a must which I would be glad to come back.
The sorrounding is also very nice, and if you get there you can visit a small musuem of Guarreschi. However it is only open til 18....
