We came to visit the massive Sacrario Militare di Redipuglia and parked in the car park for Colle Sant' Elia Redipuglia. After visiting the Sacrario Militare di Redipuglia we saw what we thought was a park with a couple of artillery pieces in it. On entering the park was saw more and more pieces of artillery and it became apparent this was more than a park.
The parkland is apparently the first mass grave for Itallian troops on the Isonnzo front - and when it became apparent it was too small the main area across the road was instigated.

Its well worth a wander around the "park" - lots of trees and guns.

It is located opposite of the Sacrario of Redipuglia. It was the first cemetary for the soldiers of the Isonzo front of that area, but it was too small. So they built the large Sacrario. It is a quite, yet somber resting place for the soldiers. Take some time to visit it.
