Had a beautiful lunch at Ishka Restaurant yesterday.
I had the fish from the lunch special menu and the others had pumpkin ravioli and the chicken dish,
We were on a tight schedule so skipped entree but have to say they looked great. A highlight was the dessert menu. One of our party had an Eton mess which he said was very nice except for an excess of mint, the other guest had lemon and lavender tart which was delicious but spoiled by a piece of plastic in the icecream. The taste of the icecream was very ordinary and it was a shame to not have a chef made ice cream with such a good tart. The plastic and lack of flavour in the ice cream was a bit disappointing. I had the dessert tasting plate and it was delicious. No disappointments there.
The standard of the food was high and we can recommend Ishka except for the little details mentioned above. The staff were delightful.
