“A cosy welcoming home from home with a beach on the doorstep”

As the cottage came into view(Thank you Satnav and owners illustrated guide)We knew we were in for some peace and quiet.Secluded in lovely countryside. Our dogs (Chihuahua and Yorkie) jumped out of our car desperate to take in their holiday surroundings. On opening the door and walking into the entrance hall and the living room we found the place enchanting , very bright and clean ,with the log burning stove all set to go. Also to welcome us there was a nice bottle of wine and excellent choice of chocolates. We have never felt at home so quickly in a holiday cottage. Our Chihuahua "Tinkerbell" awarded herself the best seat in the house and spent most of the week in the little bay window on her special blanket to protect the paintwork. No traffic here or any pedestrians apart from the occasional tractor . We had the pleasure of seeing wild deer out of the kitchen window as well as the coastline of Ireland. In the early hours of one morning my wife woke and went outside to see the night sky and as there is no light pollution the stars were extraordinary like twinkling diamonds. We both enjoyed beachcombing with the dogs , which was a gentle ten minute walk to a very deserted secluded bay . We sat and watched the sunsets. Just to show you the attention to detail the owners have gone to here, we needed a battery for a razor and we found a box of them in a utility cupboard with the spare lightbulbs and First aid box. The level of comfort and the quality of the interior fixtures and fittings were of an exceptional high standard. We were very impressed with Kenmuir cottage and would highly recommend it for its seclusion, wonderful views and levels of comfort. This place is well situated for excursions and there are many place to visit all within 10 miles The beaches at Sandhead. The Mull of Galloway, Portpatrick,Botanical gardens at Portlogan and Castle Kennedy in Stranraer. We also would advise a visit to the StrEatery82 at Glenluce Bay for wonderful food. Thank you Jen and Forrest. We loved our week at your cottage.

Kenmuir Cottage really was special. The cottage was extremely cosy and comfortable and it was great to come back to after a day exploring the surrounding area. The hosts were brilliant and explained everything on arrival. We had a great week there and the dogs loved the garden, which was safe and secure. The peace and quiet, as there are only farms surrounding the cottage, really made it a place to relax in. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.

There is little to add to my previous review from our stay in this fantastic cottage last year. The very high standards set by the owners continue to be maintained. This property is very clean, well maintained, excellently located and very comfortable. On this occasion we saw deer from the cottage - a great place to relax and rewind. We are sure to return.

“Comfort, peace and privacy in a beutiful location”

If you’re after some peace and privacy with stunning scenery then we thoroughly recommend this cottage. Despite its fairly remote location, which we saw as a bonus because of its beauty and privacy, the property has every modern convenience including a dishwasher, TV and internet, making it great for a couple or small family. The owners were very friendly and efficient, even leaving wine and chocolates to greet us and make us feel welcome.

“An outstanding cottage”

We have been lucky enough to have spent a week at this beautiful cottage .We had booked after seing it on it's own website and thought it looked ideal for a break we were needing.
On arrival we were met by the owners who showed us round the cottage and explained how everything worked.we were touched by the wine and chocloates that was left as a welcoming gift.
The cottage is stunning , it has high quality fixtures and fittings and the amount of thought and consideration that has been given to guests blew us away. All you need to bring is yourselves , everything and I mean everything is in place
The garden is secure (a must for our escape artist jack russell terrier) ,large and beautifully kept. There is secure storage for bikes or fishing gear and within the storage there is outdoof seating and a large bbq with the charcoal to fuel it.The views surrounding the cottage are of farmland and views to the sea, the wildlife was so different to what we get back home.We had great weather so we took advantage of the garden enjoying lunch on the lawn.
The interior of the house is immaculate and very thoughtfully decorated from the sumptious bedroom to the very modern and very well equiped kitchen with seated dining .The lounge is very comfortable and again is very well equiped .Freeview tv ,a huge selection of music and dvd's and books and even boardgames. There is a multi fuel log burner which is very cosy in the evening , this makes the cottage feel very welcoming. The seperate toilet and bathroom is a nice touch and again these are very tastefully decorated and equiped.
The cottage is an ideal place to come to for a chill-out relaxing stay or as a base to explore the beautifull surroundings. You will not be disappointed with your stay here as it ticks all the boxes and then some.I would not hesitate to recommend Kenmuir Cottage to anyone visiting this area.Jennifer and Forrest has managed to create a home away from home and a space you feel at ease in straight away . Thanks again
