“Business Breakfast a treat”

Visiting Havelock North on business and this venue was recommended by locals and certainly didn't disappoint!

I had omelette with bacon and potato cake which was delicious.

Omelette and bacon perfectly cooked and the potato cake was a nice creative way to do potatoes.

The relish was a tasty condiment.

Colleague had Eggs Bene (which is his standard order everywhere we go across the country) and he rated it.

Both coffees on the mark.

Ambience is urban chic I'd say with retro items painted in bright colours and well laid out.

Staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming.

Value for money was excellent - the Eggs Bene is a common menu item in NZ so good indicator of price which I recall was $18 here - that can be up to $23 elsewhere and my meal was excellent value too at $16.50!!!

One minor point; It can get quite warm in the venue with large glassed areas heating the place up and a lack of aircon... but easily fixed when the main entrance and large street facing barista window are both opened creating a pleasant cooling airflow.

Top place, going back again today!

Good food and efficient service.
I had Thai chicken filo which was very tasty and had plenty of different ingredients.
Wife had enchilada which she said was fine.
Cheese toastie and HUGE sausage roll kept the young ones happy.

Food was terrible for the price. 6 small dumplings for $18. Lesson learned - ask how many there are if the price seems high. Sauce for it was the wrong kind of soy too - very salty.

Ordered a delicious looking sandwich from the cabinet and got a terrible looking replica from out back - could have been fresher but not worth $8.50.

Milkshake was a scoop of powder in a blender with milk.

Staff including who I assume was the owner or manager seemed sad to be there. I feel their pain.

Kids. Kids everywhere. Arrived 5 mins after i had ordered.

Wont be going back.

A wonderful cafe which is pet friendly with sacking bed and pet bowl provided outside under covered area. This is fast becoming our go to cafe each time we visit Hawkes Bay..

Regular Saturday event after swimming and occasional meeting place for business. Coffee and food is good and very friendly staff. Also child friendly with toys. Would recommend a visit.
