We tend to pop into this cafe on a Sunday afternoon for afternoon tea and it's appreciated that a good selection of cake/savories are always on offer. The food is fresh and the service is efficient, just the place to relax after a busy week.

Have been buying bread from here for years when it was Jacksons bakers, which is all it is, just a bakers there is nothing especially artisan about the food sold here, you can buy the same items anywhere. But today really takes the biscuit, no pun intended, as I was in Jacksons BAKERS to buy a loaf of bread and was told no, you can't buy a loaf we need them all to make sandwiches! I then went home, and called and suggested they order some more and the reply from Kelly the new owner was we make it all ourselves in the bakery! Well Kelly, I suggest perhaps you make enough for your customer needs and your sandwiches too! I am sure that you were probably told by the previous owner want sells and what doesn't! Oh and by the way, while you can call your business what you like, the new name sounds pompous and is not reflected in what you sell. There has not been any major changes in your goods and products to reflect that you are an artisan food supplier and still just a bakers. Moving the bread cabinet to wear it is now is also a backwards step but of course what would I know, only been a customer there for the last six years but won't be a customer any longer after today, terrible way to treat loyal customers and a sure fire way to finish a business off. I will use the only REAL artisan delicatessen in Havelock North to buy my bread from in future! Really good job at alienating customers

Hi. We are Rob & Kelly the new owners of Jackson’s and are saddened that you and your wife, who we understand made the request for the sandwich loaf, have had a bad experience at Jackson’s.

We sincerely apologise for the bad experience you had at Jackson’s.

We make a wide range of breads fresh every morning including sandwich loaves that we sell in our cabinet and also use to make a large number of sandwiches. We apologise that the bread your wife wanted was not in the cabinet and also that the staff member did not try to source a loaf for her. The bread quantities are the same that the previous owner made but have decided to increase this based on your feedback. A number of our customers book their favourite bread by placing an order either in the cafe or over the phone so that they don’t miss out. We would be happy to do this for you also.
We have discussed the situation with the staff member concerned and she agrees that she could have communicated to your wife better and helped her to find a sandwich loaf as requested.

Thank you for calling to tell us of your experience but Kelly was unable to put a solution in place as the call ended before she could help you. We tried to call you back but your number was listed as a blocked number.

We always want to put things right for any of our customers who have experienced a problem with our products or service. We would like the opportunity to put this right for you and your wife. Please email us at rob@jacksonsartisanfoods.co.nz so we can assist you.

Thank you for your feedback on our new name and the placement of our bread cabinet. We have received mostly positive feedback on the moving of our bread cabinet and would be happy to hear why moving it to where it is now is a backwards step. Our new name reflects not where the business currently is, but where we would like to take it. We have made a number of changes to the business including introducing new products, adding more meat to our pies, using higher quality flour for all our breads and giving all of our end of day food to Nourished for Nil. We look forward to launching new initiatives in the coming months that closer reflect our new name.

Please email us at rob@jacksonsartisanfoods.co.nz so we can ensure this matter is resolved for you and your wife.

Our sincerest apologies for the distress and experience this has caused you. We look forward to hearing from you and helping you both.

Best regards,
Rob & Kelly

Popped in for some morning tea and coffee. I got the almond croissant which was disappointing as it was hard and all I could taste was the almond flavouring which tasted more like cherry. It was a shame because I was really looking forward to it. We also got a couple of pies takeaway and they were enjoyable.

Their pies are the best pies I have eaten (as good as the one I had 22 years ago). I shared one with my husband but wished I'd eaten the whole thing.

I am not a pie person,my Husband is,but when I was told the Pies were about to come out of the oven I was sold.
We both enjoyed the Mince and cheese pie with a coffee what a bargain,a tasty pie and good service.
We are sorry to be returning home and cannot return to try some of the other delicious looking bakery items.
