Malos decor gives off very Queenstown chalet vibes and I’m here for it!
The service is polite, friendly and timed well without being in your face.
I would recommend given the size of the restaurant they could do with having more classic cocktails eg mojito and cosmo and the wine could be ordered better on the menu and also have more variety.
We also noted the pour size of the wine was quite varied - first pours on the small size, second pours on the generous side.
The food however is exquisite. There is a great selection of flavours on offer for even the pickiest of eaters.
The standouts had to be the choux pastry with pate for entree and the chefs special two cuts of lamb for main.
WARNING - this dish may send you to Heaven.
It’s a 2 person share dish that really could feed 3 people! The loin was on top perfectly cooked medium rare with a delicious crust infused with rosemary and garlic. Then just when we thought we’d conquered this beast we realised below the carcass was the backstrap. Equally tender and melt in your mouth. The wine jus is generous and just adds to an already stellar flavour bomb.
We couldn’t eat it all and a doggy bag was a must.
