My husband and I, with another couple stayed at the Kibale Guest Cottages, while on a 20-day birding tour with Bird Uganda Safaris, led by our excellent guide, Crammy Wanyama. Adjacent to the Kibale National Park, the cottages provided easy access to one of the best bird watching spots in Uganda. The location is also one of the starts for Chimpanzee Tracking at the Park.

We had already been in Africa for almost a month when we came to the Kibale Guest Cottages. It far exceeded our expectations, compared to other remote locations we had stayed at. Bird Uganda Safaris had made special arrangements for us to stay at the Kibale Guest Cottages, as I required electricity throughout the night and they could accommodate that need.

The cottages were quiet, roomy, very comfortable, clean, safe and had ample solar-heated, hot water for the combination tub/shower. A recently opened establishment, the walk-ways were still under construction, but were passable. The delicious meals were served buffet style, with a different selection/theme for each day.

Truly the highlight of our stay at the Kibale Guest Cottages was the staff. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. The brochure for the Kibale Guest Cottages states their Mission: Passion for Service. They definitely strive to exceed that goal.

I stayed here one night. The hotel is promising - it is a beautiful location and the individual bandas have the potential to be quite nice. It would be nice to see some decoration in the bandas and the bathrooms could be improved with some kind of divider between the shower and the rest of the bathroom so that the whole thing isn't flooded. Additional lights in the room and an additional outlet would also be nice, as would additional lighting illuminating the way from the restaurant to the banda. But the people were nice, the food was pretty decent, and the location, on the edge of the forest and near the start of Chimpanzee Tracking, is excellent. It's a new hotel and it is very promising. Note that I had zero cellular phone reception at the location and there is now wifi.
