This spacious cottage is located on a quiet cul-de-sac on the banks of the Montmorency River. It's surrounded by nature and the hills, but only 20 minutes from downtown Quebec City and its wonderful restaurants. We ate out most nights because we wanted to explore local cuisine, but we needn't have - the kitchen in this cottage is very well equipped, and the local IGA grocery store is amazing.
The cottage is close (15-20 minutes) to both downhill and cross country ski locations, and there's hiking/snowshoeing to be found in the village itself. The cottage was equipped with two new sets of snow-shoes, and Josee gave us some great advice on which trails to take, so on our last day we had a great afternoon shoeing up to a nearby summit and overlook.
The cottage is very clean and well equipped. It's perfect (and very spacious) for a couple, and would be decent for a family with 2 kids. It's a little less useful for two adult couples because the two bedrooms are not really private (the dividing wall only goes half way to the ceiling) . The property is beautiful, and the owners own ten of 15 more houses all around for long term rentals, all painted red and white, so it has a quaint, club-like atmosphere. This cottage is right on the river and guests can swim.
Arriving on a winter evening, we found the home to be everything that we needed. Opening the door to a warm place with soft music playing and a bottle of wine was just what was needed after a day of travel.
The house is spacious and well-kept. Although there are a few houses nearby, we felt secluded from others.
We were in Quebec City for their annual winter (carnival a wonderful event for families during the winter). It was great to come back to some peace and quiet. This house provided that for us.
The kitchen is well stocked for those wishing to cook. Clean towels and linens were also provided.
The backyard (covered in 3-4 feet of snow) had a beautiful view of the river. Josee and her sister Gyna were gracious with their messages during our booking time and enjoyed talking toJosee who we met during our time there.
I have stayed in many Flipkey houses over the years, this is tops on my list. There is a reason for their "Certificate of Excellence." I definitely recommend this Riverside Home.
This stay was the high point of our fall foliage trip through New England to Quebec. We enjoyed waking up in a natural setting and watching the leaves fall. The house is convenient to Montmorency Falls, Ile d'Orleans and Qubec City. The house is new, clean and was furnished with a lot of conveniences such as wi-fi, cable TV and appliances.
Wonderful cottage on river. Quiet, extremely clean and well cared for. Conveniently located close to grocery store and gas station. Just a short trip to Quebec city or ile d' Orle'ans. Nice to spend days site seeing and then be able to come back to this wonder place, wish we could have stayed longer. Josee is very kind and attentive. Thanks again for everything, Cant wait to visit again!
We arrived after midnight and a 24 hour journey to a welcomingly lit and beautiful house, with music playing and a bottle of wine on the table. Everything instantly felt better. The house itself is spacious, full of light and with a lot of attention to details. The view onto the river is superb and it really is a wonderful place to swim with cool, clean water and a little beach not far from the house. In the evenings we enjoyed sitting by the fire pit, wrapped in soft blankets and watching the fish rise. Gyna and Josee couldn't have been more welcoming, bringing us out to see a perfect rainbow and treating us with patience when we lost our key. Thank you both for a fabulous week.
