This condo is an end unit and as such much quieter than some others like ones near the elevator. The elevators to the ground floor are quite speedy and only short delays the exit will bring you to rue Saint Francis Xavier and a short left and 15 feet to St Antoine or a right to rue St Jacques. Personally, I’d go right if you are headed to many of the old sites like the Notre Dame Basillica as it’s not as steep. Be aware that the sidewalk and road edge are uneven and you need to watch your step.
Xavier will take you all the way to the old port as well as St. Paul and Rue Notre dame shopping me as that are full with every type of merchant or vendor one needs while on vacation. Xavier in that direction (toward hotel Bonaparte) is under road construction but there are sidewalk passages on both sides. You will even find a small convince store. If you take your first left at the banc of Montreal you will head towards the square and the Basillica. Horse Carriage rides and what seems a number of events going on from tai Che to performing minstrals.
If you haven’t guessed this place is close to many of the sites and within a short walking distance to many others. If you are venturing further the metro is right across the place on St Antoine or you can use Uber as we did when we visited the Botannical Garde and Planetorium and that was only a 12 minute ride. If you don’t have a gps and you have a car leave it parked in the garage (as we have) as there are two seasons in Montreal; winter and construction! There are parking available and one in this building. The arrangements can be worked out with your hosts.
Speaking of hosts, Nadia and Sam are two sisters and have been wonderful hosts. On our first day they had to come find us as the AAA route was closed. The good news we were able to get within a few blocks of them but it was an adventure. When we arrived they had maps, instructions and suggestions. It’s a good thing Nadia was with us as we parked as garages are entered and exited on the left. During each day Nadia texts us to check and provide even more suggestions.
The condo was immaculate and clean. The view however is obstructed by the Westin on one side and apt buildings on the other. There is howeve a non obstructed one from the laundry room. There are also warnings on the windows to not open them. There were a number of items already in the cabinets from coffee, tea, cereal, cooking staples, dishes, glasses, silverware and a working coffee pot, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. The latter also with a number of items and some delicious strawberries that Nadia brought us. Do bring your own water and preferred items although there is an IGA ten minutes away just inside the Chinatown area (which is also right around the corner two blocks away).
The shower and bathroom are fully loaded with towels, cloths and amenities. The shower is oversized and the best part excellent water pressure and hot water. The only improvements we would recommend are time for new pillows in the full/queen bedroom and some type of cushion for the pull out bed. We eventually used the bed topper as a cushion as sitting on it was just uncomfortable.
The tv has a number of channels available as well as local channels. The WiFi worked perfectly and Nadia provided all the instructions and codes.
All in all we can say we are happy we found this place and took a chance on it. I am sure you will enjoy it as well Bienvenue
From the moment we arrived, jetlagged and tired, to be welcomed to the apartment, we had a great stay in Montreal. The apartment is in the Les Etoiles building just a couple of blocks from Notre Dame cathedral, and all the restaurants and attractions of Old Montreal are just a short walk away. There were just two of us in the apartment for the first three nights of our stay, and there was plenty of room, with the kitchen well stocked, and plenty of soap, shampoo, etc. in the bathroom. There are also lots of towels, which came in handy when a couple of friends visited for the last two nights of our stay. There was enough room with two guests on the sofa bed, but the apartment definitely felt a bit more crowded. The design of the apartment was handy, though, with the 'en-suite' bathroom accessible through two doors - one at the end of the spacious walk-in wardrobe, and the other off the main hallway. There is also a big laundry room which provides extra storage for suitcases, etc. We would definitely stay at Nadia and Sam's apartment again.
Had an amazing time. Host was extremely nice and had an amazing hospitality. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent location, very clean & comfortable with great amenities including big soaking tub! Very quiet apartment. Nadia & Sam are very friendly & helpful! Gym is clean with good equipment. Would definitely book again!
This lovely and well stocked apartment was perfectly located just steps away from Notre Dame in Old Montreal. Walking distance to the water, restaurants, shopping and a train station made a car unneccesary. The apartment was clean and bright - a wonderful respite from daily adventures. Nadia and Sam were attentive and excellent communicators.
