You will be checking into what was once a celebrated and massive concrete pyramid building for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. The three blocks were partially under repair but it was not noisy where we stayed in Building C on the 9th floor.
Expect to enter a building somewhat time-worn and not easily accessible because of the many security doors. Hard to arrange to meet someone unless you both have working cell phones to time it so that you can meet your arrival at the parking lot. I was only given one key and one magnetic card to pass through the many doors. (I used the Hotel Universel lobby across the street for a rendezvous since one of us did not have a working cell phone.) Use HONK app to find inexpensive parking at the Village Olympique.
You need to walk for some time through building corridors to get to the grocery store and the pool in Building A. The grocery store had limited choices but, as always in Quebec, you could get your bottle of wine as well there. The pool was a let-down as I expected something larger for lap swims.
The 2 bed room was spacious and air conditioned ( can be essential in Montreal in the summer) but sparsely furnished. No carpets or rugs, just parquet floors and very basic thrift store furniture. The beds were thankfully firm, no saggy mattresses.
The view was so-so.
The location is distant from the core of restaurants, shops and night-life of this splendid city. The walk to the Viau subway takes about 15 minutes or if a bus happens along Viau Ave, about 5 min. The metro (subway) is fast and efficient. Change at Berri - UQUAM for the orange line to head one or two stops north for the Plateau restaurants or stay on the green line west to any of the stops along the way for the Place des Arts, museums, etc.
There were serious cleanliness issues and some defects with my 2 bed rental, but after I contacted the owner(s), they had these resolved the next day even though it was a Quebec holiday.
Lovely apartment. Great location. Good amenities nearby. Mario and Didier were always quick to respond if we had any questions.
