Owner description: Confederation Centre of the Arts is a national art centre showcasing the best in Canadian visual and performing arts. Stretching over an entire city block the Centre houses a world class art gallery, Mavor's restaurant, a locally supplied gift shop, three expansive conference rooms, and a beautiful 1200 seat theatre. A library, an outdoor amphitheater, and spacious outdoor courtyard are also located on site. The Mack theatre is owned and operated by the Centre which is located steps away.

I attended on the one day they have an event called the Pinch Penny Fair. This event is like a giant indoor flea market. It was crowded and hard to take in the various walls with names of the fathers of confederation.

However, the building itself is nice and has plenty offered (art museum, restaurant, and theatre). Check their website for events and shows.

Also, there is a temporary exhibit for Province House in the upper balcony area.

Thank Paul B

Clean. I interesting. Entrance is based on donation. Would be nice to see more diversity in the gallery.

Great all round experience....Very good library,as well as Theatre, art gallery and museum,(mostly photos and different art memorabilia)....
Was built from tax payer funds as a gesture to Canada's 100th..celebrations in 1967...for about 25c per Canadian (1967 population figure)..
Definitely worth the visit ,if you are travelling to Charlottetown,or if you are lucky enough to be a resident of PEI..
The Theatre has real comfy seating, and many different types of productions...so come and see for yourself, and enjoy Island Hospitality.

How fortunate Charlottetown has this wonderful venue to enjoy a variety of shows throughout the year. It is a nice facility with several theatre venues. In September we saw the "Million Dollar Quartet" that remembered the radio show that happened only one time. This excellent show had Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins, all doing great impersonations. This show is from Las Vegas. The building is very large - just a heads up - go out the same door you go in or you might get very confused as we were. There are refreshments available and a gift shop.
