When we visit Charlottetown, we always stop in at St. Dunstan's Basilica. It's a BEAUTIFUL church and a peaceful place to sit for awhile. It's been open each time we have been to Charlottetown and is free, of course. By the way, Charlottetown is a lovely place to walk around and enjoy. There are some great little coffee shops and also the Confederation Public Library to check out.

The Basilica was pointed out to us during a tour of the island and we went back later for a look. The church is beautiful and the stained glass is outstanding. Certainly something one would expect to see in Europe, what a nice surprise on PEI. They make the church available when mass isn’t being observed, so check the schedule out front. Well worth the effort while you are prowling around the downtown area of the city.

Simply Amazing! This is a must see when you are in Charlottetown P.E.I. The steeples are high above anything in Charlottetown, you can see it basicly from anywhere! Inspirational, stained glass windows beautiful arches, this church is breath taking from the moment you see it outside and inside. It is open to the public daily. You will want to stay for awhile to take it all in!

Haven't seen anything else like this in the Maritims. The stained glass windows tell the history
Free admission.

We went here on a Sunday afternoon to hear the Ottawa children's chorus. It was a rainy day (perfect for a rest day from kayaking, hiking, and biking). The stained glass and sculptures and figurines in the ceiling are lovely. Plan to spend at least an hour taking in everything it has to offer. Mass is in the morning. Reminded me of the many classic churches in Europe.
