Hazelton has been a favorite because of its premier location and upscale amenities. We have stayed at the other 5 star properties in Toronto but this last visit reinforced Hazelton's status as the premier 5 star hotel in Toronto.
What makes it stand out is service. The doormen smile and remember your name, the concierge is always helpful and attentive even when busy, the restaurant staff are not haughty and standoffish... the hotel bucks the trend of more laissez-faire service I've seen at hotels post Covid.
A special shoutout to Taylor the manager on site who was the epitome of solicitous care and helped us navigate some logistic issues. There is a difference between smiling and not being able to help and smiling and genuinely trying to help. We appreciated the top down outstanding service we received during our 5 day stay.
Rooms: I would try to get one with a balcony it is a pleasant experience to see the skyline from the Hazelton side and hear the murmur of Yorkville gently through the soundproofed windows. The nespresso and complimentary soft drinks and water are a small but appreciated touch.
If the means are there absolute first choice for Toronto!
