Great stay in the heart of the city

We stayed here for 4 nights in August as a family with 2 young kids in a corner suite. Robert who checked us in with thorough and kind. Seraphina, also at the front, went the extra mile with my son and made him feel at home. My toddler son was a big fan of her!

Lobby bar has a decent ambiance with live music every evenings. High tea exceeded our expectations as it had an Asian twist -- we much appreciated it. Breakfast at Bosk was good.

Gym is stacked with Technogym equipment and was well trafficked with users. I'm going to guess that the gym is shared with the condo, so there's always people about (not in a bad way). Pool is about 1.1m to 1.4m deep throughout and has 6 or so nice cabanas with TVs. In hindsight, I could have spent more time in the wellness area -- staff and facilities were top notch.

My toddler ended the trip saying that the "people here are very nice", and he wants to go back. We'll definitely swing by on our next trip.

First of all, a note of merit for Robert at the entrance doors that assisted us impeccably and always with a smile for the whole staying and to Thea at the recepción at the check out, for her willingness and the patience in helping me with my invoice.
The hotel is perfectly located in the city center with a beautiful view on the CN tower and Toronto skyscrapers. We had a superior king room, very spacious and with this marvelous view on the tower and on the city center. The room was very elegant, modern, recently renovated. We felt like home and I can just say that this hotel would be again my choice if I come back to Toronto.
The main hall is amazing with a very comfortable and cozy sitting area with music in the evening. Breakfast is a la carte, served by a staff extremely kind and attentive. Pity there is not a buffet, waiting time for a la carte menu can be long, but for sure worth it.
The hotel has a fabulous indoor pool with a magnificent view, separated jacuzzi and very cozy individual cabanas. The gym is just on the side, with again a fantastic open view on the tower and on the town and perfectly equipped. All amazing.

Room tip: Don’t go to breakfast in hurry because being a la carte it takes time

The experience and great memory from our first stay at Shangri-la cannot be described by the stars. Before we arrived, when we had the delta IT delay, they have shown their willingness to go above and beyond on any arrangement they could make. Once we arrived the hotel at 2am, the staffs kept impressing my family and I. From the front desk staffs, to house cleaning crews, to bosk waitresses/waiters, to staffs in gym, Shangri-la certainly makes the money we spent there worth every dollar. This even went beyond check-out, where their cleaning crew made a mistake on taking my wife’s clothes away but they were able to quickly find it a day later and shipped it to us right away (since the incident happened at the last day there). Overall, an impressive team in Shangri-la and I will certainly go back next time when my family or myself go to Toronto.

Room tip: Nothing. The experience there will wow you. So be ready

I stayed in the shangri-la suite and it is not worth the price. The handle fell off the door to the primary bedroom, the bathtub wouldn't drain, the bathtub jets were broken, the scale was broken, the balcony door was broken and would not open, the phone was missing from the wall of the washroom, and the wifi connection was spotty. Individual problems would have been fine, but this room was way too expensive to have this long a list of issues. I do love the Shangri-la just not this suite, i don't know what happened, I'll be back but I wouldn't book this suite again.
