"Best little Bar in the City"

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Oct 2022
Spent 5 days in Toronto for our Anniversary and we visited a lot of restaurants and bars during our stay while attending a few Blue Jay's games. But for some reason we would always end up at this bar for another visit. This is all because of the great service we received during our visits.
We want to acknowledge the Great service from Barry.
He would always great us with Welcome Home! No matter how busy he was he would always tend to us, even during peak hours.
Cheers Barry to making our visit to Toronto memorable.

Dear paumai,

I apologize that I am a little late in responding but rest assured that your shoutout to Barry was communicated to him and very much appreciated.

No need to wait for next baseball season to come see us again. As you know we have plenty of sports viewing opportunities around us.

Hope to see you soon.

Several things speak for the Le Germain: Location which is just around Union station, where you are right in the city center and have ideal connection (Up Train) to the Airport. Rooms: Big rooms, well designed with very comfortable beds. A - for north american standards - good breakfast buffet. And great and super friendly service at the reception. The small disadvantage is, that due toe being close to Scotiabank Arena - one of Canadas biggest event halls - it tends to get a little bit noisy. (We only had some concerts going on , but I won´t know, how loud it wolud get, when the Leafs or the Raptors are playing)

First, the location of the hotel was central to everything my wife and I wanted to do, and it was easy for us to catch a train, bus, or have a cab or an Uber pick us up... and we were close enough to a number of sights to just walk. The hotel has a very polite and helpful staff, from Alan greeting us at the desk and getting things situated to Tatiana and Jorge helping us plan many of our activities in advance of our trip. The decor is quite modern, yet the lighting and soft jazz playing when you arrive at your room makes the place feel like home. We rather enjoyed our stay, and we recommend anyone traveling to Toronto to make their stay at Le Germain.

Room tip: The concierge desk is great at getting you the information you need to make your stay awesome.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years. Never has this hotel and staff disappointed us. This time we had our 4-year-old daughter with us. They had left a child's robe, slippers, paw patrol pillow, and Mickey Mouse stuffy in the room just to make her feel comfortable. My daughter loved it. It is the little details like this that keep us coming back. I would never hesitate to book this hotel. Also, the location is great beside Union Station. So easy to get around town here.

Great hotel. The location is outstanding almost on top of Scotiabank Arena, walking distance very near harbour, Union Station, CN Tower and a great deal of restaurants. It even has a very well stocked grocery store beneath the hotel including a pharmacy and a Starbucks.
The hotel itself is modern and clean. We loved our room which looked over all the action going into/out of Scotiabank Arena. It had a Scandinavian theme with some nice wood features. Comfortable platform bed.
Negatives: could use more towel bars, our room was NOT serviced on our first night stay, took a long time to get replacement towels; did not provide breakfast credit as agreed upon so we had to contact them when we got home; breakfast could start earlier than 8:00 am.
All in all, I would stay here again but would be sure to mention that we definitely wanted our room serviced.

Dear Ms. Lebel,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the readers of TripAdvisor. We have realized that there may be some confusion regarding our privacy lights being left on and therefore housekeeping not entering to respect the privacy. We are working on better communicating this to all guests.

We are also reviewing our breakfast hours based on the recent change of season and some comments we received.

Thank you again and I hope that we can welcome you back soon.

This was my first time staying at a Le Germain property, as I am normally partial to a major US-based chain, but wow, am I glad I stayed!

From the moment of check-in, through every detail of the stay, the service was impeccable. The physical condition of the hotel is also great. The standard room itself was very large. I really enjoyed the room setup, with a glass enclosed shower as part of a large bathroom area (and there is the ability to close shades and give the shower complete privacy). The bed was super comfortable. The included Nespresso machine and pods were a major benefit.

My stay was booked with the NHL Hall of Fame Package. This included complimentary valet parking, continental breakfast for two, and entry into the hockey hall of fame. This value certainly added up. The valet service was very efficient. While the continental breakfast options were limited, the croissants are the best outside of France. The front desk clerk even included an extra Hall of Fame entry ticket so that my wife did not have to pay for hers.

The location also cannot be beat, right in the heart of Maple Leaf Square. Despite the busy location, the room was quiet and offered a great night sleep.
