Luxury in the Middle of Everything

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Sept 2022
This was my first time staying at a Le Germain property, as I am normally partial to a major US-based chain, but wow, am I glad I stayed!

From the moment of check-in, through every detail of the stay, the service was impeccable. The physical condition of the hotel is also great. The standard room itself was very large. I really enjoyed the room setup, with a glass enclosed shower as part of a large bathroom area (and there is the ability to close shades and give the shower complete privacy). The bed was super comfortable. The included Nespresso machine and pods were a major benefit.

My stay was booked with the NHL Hall of Fame Package. This included complimentary valet parking, continental breakfast for two, and entry into the hockey hall of fame. This value certainly added up. The valet service was very efficient. While the continental breakfast options were limited, the croissants are the best outside of France. The front desk clerk even included an extra Hall of Fame entry ticket so that my wife did not have to pay for hers.

The location also cannot be beat, right in the heart of Maple Leaf Square. Despite the busy location, the room was quiet and offered a great night sleep.

The hotel is in a very convenient location close to the train station and to the subway. The waterfront is within a walking distance as well as many attractions. The hotel structure is very nice in a minimalist style, rooms are comfortable, breakfast is superb, and the bar is well managed. Unfortunately, information to the client regarding the housekeeping is very poor, and having the room revealed is a state affair. This is disappointing because could be a perfect hotel for any kind of visitor.

We stayed here for 4 nights just recently. The location is great and very central to union station. The hotel itself was very slick and nice. Our room was very nice. The bathroom was huge which I appreciated with plenty of space. The shower was fiddly and the main shower head didn’t work properly. We didn’t bother to mention this as the 2nd shower head worked.. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gym was a bit basic.
Parking is right next door which is very convenient, but given it is in the CBD as expected was expensive. Overall was a great hotel and I would stay again.

The stay was really awsome, the staff was really kind professionnal and always open to our request. Kids friendly. In downtown close to eveything. Have a supermarket on the same building Makes all meals, fresh breakfast, lunch and diner. As well an LCBO and Starbuck.

I love the fact they had many staff speak
french it is a major plus for a hôtel name "Le Germain"
;)

And one of the staff advice during the check on as they don't clean the Room every Day but finally our Room Bern cleaned every Day IT was a good surprise speacially when we have kids! thank so Much!

This was a very fancy experience for our mini-van driving family. We took advantage of the promotion allowing for a hotel stay plus admission to the Hockey Hall of Fame and Ripleys Aquarium. Because we are a family of 5, we did have to pay extra for the 5th admission ticket as well as a larger room that would accommodate a cot. The room was super spacious, even with a cot. The bathroom was the same size as the room. Awkward that the bathroom had a window that faced into the room area with mini-blinds. The beds were way too firm and the pillows were way too soft. The rooms was amazingly quiet even with ScotiaBank arena outside our window. We heard nothing from outside. The staff was all courteous and friendly. I had read on other reviews that breakfast was monitored by the employees but we were able to enjoy a full buffet breakfast. It was also part of our package. Breakfast included pasties, fruit, meat, cheese, yogurt, granola, eggs, sausage and bacon. We really enjoyed our stay as we were looking to leave our car and walk to all our touristy locations.

Dear 621tracyr,

Thanks for reviewing us here on tripAdvisor. I am glad you and your family enjoyed your time with us and that our packing of the activities in the city made it convenient for you to enjoy those attractions. Thanks also for the shout out to our amazing team.

Indeed, following some of the comments regarding our breakfast offer, we have made some changes to include the full buffet instead of just the continental as we as enhanced some of the offering. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed it.

We hope to be able to welcome you and your family again soon.

Sincerely,

Paul de La Durantaye
