Booked and stayed in King Suite (room 418)
Woke up Thursday, Oct 25th, at 5:45AM and was greeted to a fully grown cockroach scurrying across the toilet seat in the bathroom. Woke up partner who was still sleeping to tell her, went back to bathroom, to the sight of a different, not yet fully grown cockroach appearing from underneath the toilet seat.
Went downstairs to notify Muhammed at reception and showed him pictures, and was met with a response not of any concern, but by telling me that he could offer me a $30 voucher for breakfast, or that he could come spray the bathroom... Asked him if I could use another room to shower in, and was told that it wasn't possible.
Went back upstairs and got all my things, and went back down to check-out, asked to speak to the manager on duty, and Muhammed said that he was the manager on duty, despite the sign behind him saying that it was Kayo Mehta. He told me that Mr. Mehta wasn't actually in yet.
I don't care about the cost of the room, what's absolutely baffling is the fact that there seemed to be no concern of the matter, and now that i'm reading other recent reviews, it seems like it's not a unique issue.
I will be reporting this to Toronto Public Health.
