Overall a good experience, a few points stopped it being great

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Aug 2024
Stayed from 24/07 to 02/08 in a king suite, which we were told would be suitable for 2 adults and 3 kids. King size bed was lovely, the sofa bed was not. Fairly thin mattress, so not great for adults, just about manageable for our stay. The sofa (not the sofa bed mattress part) had an orange stain and most bizarrely, the bathroom door is a sliding design with no catch. We were told this is the design but it means the bathroom door cannot be completely closed. Positives from the room - good air con, a huge bath and quick to get hot water, a decent sized and cool fridge.
Hotel in general - modern, clean, friendly and helpful staff. There's a robot that delivers room service which is a great novelty for the kids. It is well situated, a minute walk from St George subway station and close to a number of shops and museums. The attached restaurant had lovely food from what we tried - fish and chips, chicken fajitas, turkey BLT - around $25 a dish.

Room Tip: Sofa beds are not suitable for adults, particularly on longer stays.

Amazing hotel. Welcoming. Great location. We were able to walk where we needed to go. Parking under the hotel so easy to park and get to your room. Quiet and relaxing. Amazing staff experience. The room was super modern and great details. Would definitely stay again.

Spent three nights in this hotel and it really is exceptional. Staff are calm and helpful, the space is beautiful, and we really appreciated the extra touches like iced tea and coffee available in the foyer, and ‘wine hour’ early evening. We were in a suite and it was a lovely space to relax, with excellent air con and a luxurious bathroom. Unlike many suites, the sofabed was comfortable and spacious. The late checkout for Kimpton members helped our onward travel.

I’ve stayed at a lot of Kimpton properties, and after my stay at the Saint George, I can confidently say that this Kimpton is my favorite one. The location is great, close to Bloor Street and a few museums and gardens. A+ for visitors visiting the university.
Upon our arrival at valet, the attendant was really helpful. Parking was reasonable and easy, despite the construction going on in the street currently. Then we had an excellent experience at the front desk. Although there was a wedding going on, and the lobby was crowded, we felt welcomed and important. We were traveling with our dogs and we were even given a free gift for our pups at check in via a partnership that the hotel had. Impressive! We originally booked a King room but upgraded to a one-bedroom suite at check-in. It was so worth it. Our room faced the street, but it was really quiet. The room has a bar area, where we were able to sit and eat, and a comfortable sofa (I think it turned into a sofa bed but we didn’t utilize it) in the main area. It was really spacious, which we appreciated. The bedroom was equally spacious, with a comfortable bed and comfortable sheets. The bathroom had an enormous bathtub - which was the highlight. The only thing that was disappointing was the water pressure for the shower head. Lastly, the service was top-notch. I was very impressed at the attentiveness of the staff. We needed a few things from them, and they always delivered with a great hospitable attitude. My husband likened it to staying in Beverly Hills in comparison to a different hotel we stayed in that was located within the Entertainment District. I agree!

Room tip: Skip the restaurant, there are lots of better places to eat.

Only stayed for one night and wish we could've stayed longer. Comfortable, quiet hotel with professional, friendly, helpful staff. So many nice touches - yoga mat in the room, mini fridge, freezing cold water, coffee and tea in reception, wine at 5pm, and much more. We were next to the elevator and didn't hear a thing too - great soundproofing! Nice breakfast in the pub too - gluten free options, and the breakfast potatoes are SO good! Highly recommend.
