Relaxing Weekend

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Jun 2024
We had a lovely weekend at the Four Seasons. My husband and I took the trip to get away from real life for a few days, and we were able to do so.

The hotel thought of every detail to make our stay special.

Location is fantastic - close to great shopping, food, and events.

Extra call out to the concierge and valets. From providing a list of things going on in the city before we even arrived, to the hands-on care and attention given to us when we arrived, we felt special and cared for before our trip even began.

Had a very good stay. I'm not a frequent Four Seasons guest, but they treated me like I am. Very cordial and relevant interactions through the app, helping with arrival logistics and also managing receipt of a delivery from an outside company.

The attention started with my early arrival at the hotel, several hours before the usual check-in time. Due to high occupancy, they couldn't guarantee an early check-in. However, while I was having breakfast, they were able to find a room--with an upgrade to one of the newly-renovated suites, no less.

My luggage was already in the room by that time. The room itself was lovely--spacious, tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed, huge bathroom, great amenities. Just a very comfortable place to unwind in.

I didn't spend much time in the restaurants except at breakfast. The options were fairly standard, but everything was very well prepared. I was able to fuel up nicely for the day. The restaurant staff were attentive without being intrusive.

I think the staff are one of the best features of the hotel, which arguably has a lot of other things going for it (location, design, comfort, etc etc). Many of them were calling me by name at the end of my short stay. They were always eager to help, and even anticipated things I would need before I asked.

I might only stay in a hotel in Toronto once or twice a year, but my friends and I will always want to stay the FS.

I stayed here for a weekend, and I dunno, maybe I made the mistake of staying at a Japanese four seasons first, but this place was not 5 star. The service was no where near as nice, and the bathroom? They had this horrible round tub that was obviously installed for looks and not use. You have to bend yourself in odd ways to try and soak in it, and it constantly drained even when you had the plug in. I don't see how a apparent luxury hotel can go so wrong with a tub. Don't install a birdbath, get a real soaker tub.

Room tip: don't book while the construction is going on right next door.

I did not have a good experience this time, staff was not nice, i was told that kids cannot use pool beyong 9-12 or 4-7, next time send me these policies before, i wont book this hotel.

I asked if my friends family who has come to join, can also use, they said no, very rudly.

I asked front desk lady for late checkout at 1, she said ok with an attitude, then comes knocking at my door at 1.05, how rude is that.

Then i asked her to send me the bell boy to take my lugagge, no one came til 1.30
Customer service gone down the drain.

I stayed at this hotel for my kids this time, this was my 3rd stay this year, i am not the customer anymore.

Coffee quality is also not good, no gooddies for kids, what happed to you Four Seasons.

Room tip: Snobby Customer Service for no use, almost wanted to speak with the manager. next time, actually no next time, dont wanna stay anymore at FS

We have been going to Yorkville to enjoy a "culinary vacation" for a few years and always stay at the Four Seasons. The service and hospitality are excellent. They always remember us and our preferences. Both Cafe Boulud and DiBar are excellent for meals and drinks, and always welcoming. Many of the staff remember us from our previous stays and they always call us by name. We are retired seniors, and a bit mobility challenged, so the Four Seasons is great as it is within walking distance to other fine restaurants we can enjoy during our stay over several days. We are already planning our next visit and will be definitely staying at the Four Seasons again.
