Dear Susan M,
Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention and we sincerely apologize that you experienced all these issues during your stay. Rest assured we do absolutely everything in our power to ensure all of our guests and staff are safe and follow proper COVID-19 protocols. We have provided all members with adjustable high quality masks and do everything in our power to make sure every staff member is wearing their masks at all times. We have enforced strict COVID-19 rules and protocols throughout the building to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests. Those staff members that are seen not wearing their masks will be dealt with internally to make sure incidents like this do not happen again.
In regards to hotel guests, we have signs posted at every entrance, in all of our elevators, on reservation confirmations, our website, and we even provide complimentary masks available at our Front Desk, Valet, Pool, Spa, Fitness Areas and Restaurants. We try to provide every opportunity for guests to follow proper mask etiquette, even when they may have forgotten or lost their mask. It is everyone's responsibility to follow proper mask etiquette when indoors, and all of our staff are informed to gently, yet firmly remind guests when they may have forgotten to wear a mask and offer one when needed.
It is a very difficult situation to navigate these days, however rest assured all of our amazing associates are dedicated to the safety, security and enjoyment of our property for everyone. Our management team will step in and remind those guests and staff members who have forgotten or may be less vigilant in wearing their mask properly. We do our very best to police and enforce the policy and we are disappointed that despite our best efforts, we still failed to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
Rest assured this is not a management issue but a diligence issue. With the vaccine passport rules coming out on September 22nd, we have reminded our staff about proper mask etiquette and to be wearing their masks at all times. From our valet, to front desk, to food and beverage, to housekeeping, it is every department’s responsibility to keep guests and staff safe and we remind them of this at every daily briefing.
Should you wish to discuss this further, please feel free to connect with my through email at fariyal.hasham@hotelxtoronto.com
