Very good selection of beers and some nice wines. Super friendly service, good atmosphere. We also had lunch there early on and the food was very tasty.

We enjoyed the Boar's Head In on the first night of our visit to Stratford, Ontario, Canada. The staff was very friendly! There was live music that evening and the food was most satisfying!

Some times we want to go where they know our pint preference. That place is the Boars Head. Great staff and service.

Date of Visit: Saturday, June 9th, 2018
Dinner x 4 people.
Meals: BBQ chicken Pizza, Chicken Bruschetta Quiche & salad, Cornmeal chicken sandwich & Salad, and several beers.

This pub has the look and feel of an olde English pub. THe decor is what you would expect - dark, and decorated with paintings of Olde English countryside. There is a giant Boar's head on the wall to complete the theme.
The dining area is not huge, but certainly adequate. There is an outdoor patio in the summer months.
The Bar is small, but well-stocked, and has many craft beers on tap, including one of our favourites: The Black Swan Brewing Co. (also in Stratford). We come out to Stratford a lot just for their beer.

The food: Pizza was really good. The Chicken sandwiches were also good. The Quiche, which was on the specials menu, was very 'adequate'. I really like quiche and was hoping for something spectacular, and I was, unfortunately, let down.
It was a little bland, and boring.
The best item was definitely the pizza.

The price was very good: for 2 people (pizza & quiche), with 3 beers - was $60 with tax and tips.

The food was good, just not great.
Service was good - she was friendly and attentive.
I did not see specific parking for this restaurant, but there is street pay parking.

It's a good answer following "What should we do." The Boar's Head is an awesome pub for any night of the week, but Friday is the must-go day. Friday's have live music and its great to meet a group or a friend there. It has bar food, but there are a few fancier options that are within budget! In a tourist city it has managed to maintain a familiar sort of feel that makes it seem to be meant for regulars and locals. There is not a lot of seating so you may end up waiting for a table. It's pretty central so I would even suggest stopping in for a drink at the Hub (5 min walking distance) while waiting for some tables to free up at Boar's Head.
