“Full of resellers who were exposed on Marketplace. Local growers have been expelled.”

There are some great vendors there---but most of the most ethical ones are also at the Wednesday downtown market. This one has many of them re-selling overpriced fruit and vegetables that they purchase in Toronto. One of them, Kent Farms, was exposed on CBC's Marketplace lying to customers claiming they had a farm where they grew their own food....and they were secretly followed the Ontario Food Terminal in Toronto where they picked up the food. And the supposed location of their farm, no farm existed. And those who complained about the resellers have been expelled. So no longer will I be going to that market.

A great selection of vendors... get the early for fresh bread from the Hard Winter Bread company or taste the best pierogies from A Taste of Russia... that and a ton of other great vendors from farm fresh eggs to fresh vegetables and meats and artisans... you won't leave hungry!

This has become one of our favourite markets in Canada (so far!) as there are so many to explore. Great selection of produce. The Taste of Russia Perogies are worth the trip alone. And in August we look forward to the explosion of colour from the fantastic Gladiolas, zinnias and sunflowers. You can get cheese, meat, breafast, produce, great coffee, flowers, crafts all in one place. Go. Enjoy. Shop local!

The Farmers" market is indoors every Saturday at George and Lansdowne Street. Some vegetable and fruit vendors have organic foods. Some have gluten-free breads, sourdough breads, but you have to get there by 9 am to have any of those available. You can buy organic apples of a large selection most all yer round, organic beef, lamb, rabbit, pork, cheese, mushrooms, coffee, maple syrup, preserves, homemade soaps, creams and tinctures. You can get zippers repaired while you wait, and in the spring buy perennials for planting. It is a delight to the senses.
