“Great little place to visit, lots to do and see”
Reviewed 26 November 2012

While staying in Niagara Falls, just a short drive along the river and you are at Niagara-On-The-Lake. Great views as you drive, vineyards, forest and sights along the river.
Once you arrive in the town, park your car and plan several hours of walking and enjoying the quaint specialty shops. Bakeries, clothing, hotels, trinkets, and our favorite is the hat shop, Beauchapeau.
Springtime through to November offers shows and the Shaw Festival, tickets can be purchased on Main Street at their centrally located office.
Drive on up Main Street to the lake (just a 2 minute drive) and enjoy the views.
Overall a great little place with lots to see and do, definitely a place to visit!

“Learn about Ice Wines....and more !”
Reviewed 3 November 2011

On are recent visit to Buffaol, we learned about Niagara On The Lake. What a marvelous discovery. Located about 20 miles Beyond The Falls, is a gem of a village! Quaint and charming was our experience.
Then, as an added dividend, we were introduced to "ice wines"! Unique to that area, wine produced from grapes that are picked after frost begins, producing a delicious sweet a most syrupy drink!
One must try it to truly appreciate this most unique beverage.

“Nice Side Trip From Niagara Falls”
Reviewed 24 September 2011

Niagara On The Lake is a quaint historical town near Niagara Falls with a easy self guided tour. We found that 5.0 Taxi Co ran limited shuttle buses between the two towns at a reasonable price with friendly drivers who are very knowledgeable about the area. We found this ourselves since no one knew how to get there without taking a cab. Our self guided tour was easy to walk thanks to a brochure we picked up at our hotel and there were many places to eat and public rest rooms in the down town section. The main historical fact was that during the War of 1812, the Americans invaded, occupied and then burned the town down when they left. The wineries are located outside of the town proper and tours are available.

Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Vintage Wine Tours "Absolutely magnificent!"
Date: July 4, 2011
Reviewer: Corporate - Kingston, ON
We have had three separate corporate events in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Two in May, one in June and have booked a fourth for another group in July. On all three occasions we booked Niagara Vintage Wine Tours and were extremely pleased. They arranged for two wine tastings and followed by dinner at one of the top wineries - everything top notch.
Overall, I would say our expectations were more than met.

“A TASTE OF OLD ENGLAND!”
Reviewed 2 July 2011

We are so pleased we took a day out to visit this town, what a gem and such a complete contrast to its neighbour down the road. We should imagine this is what England was like in the 1950's, quaint and charming. It is obviously a very safe place, friendly people, easy to navigate and had such an air of calm and tranquility.

The area has a number of vineyards if you are interested in tours. The town has a variety of shops, mostly catering for the tourist trade we're sure. We took a walk into Simcoe Park and St Mark's Church across the road and then to Queen's Royal Park. You can also take a horse and trap tour around the town.

If we ever visit the area again we will definitely base ourselves in this town and leave Niagara Falls to everyone else. The drive from Niagara on the Falls along the Niagara Parkway is around 15 miles although the highway is probably quicker but not as scenic as this route. There is also a very long cycle pathway should you be feeling energetic.
