Not What I Thought…

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Aug 2024via mobile
I had very high hopes because of all the great reviews.

Pros: really close to Clifton Hill and the Falls, Breakfast Included, Staff was nice enough

Cons: beds were top 3 worst beds I’ve ever had at a hotel. My back and my husband’s back are killing us now. Pokey coils and creaking, I didn’t sleep well at all and was up every 2 hours with numb arms or insane neck/back pain. Food, while included was not at all what I was expecting based on reviews. Not much choice and some pale apples and tiny bananas were all that was offered for fruit. Some cheese would have been nice, even frozen fruit for the waffles.. something. Not what I thought. Rooms were quite dated and our bathroom shower was pretty gross (rust and tub looked filthy). $20 a night for parking was expensive. The pool… ok so I thought there was a hot tub? But the pictures must be old and the pool was pretty old and rough in condition. Not great. I won’t stay again and was pretty let down by the other reviewer’s recommendation because this hotel should be a 3/5 TOPS .. if the mattress had been better or rooms in better shape I’d up the score but 2/5 is about as best as I can go. Not impressed and disappointed with overall quality for cost.

I stayed here for one night with a friend as we had tickets to a show at OLG Stage.

Location is great. Its a lengthy walk (or cheap Uber) to the Fallsview/OLG Stage but there is lots within short walking distance like Casino Niagara and the attractions of Clifton Hill.

Service was also great. We got into town at 12pm on a Saturday and there was a room ready for us (check in is 4pm). The woman who checked us in was super friendly and offered plenty of tips on where to find a good patio on a sunny day.

Room was clean and modern. However, the best part was the value. It was much cheaper than the big premium hotels but yet much better quality than lower-end options. Perfect if you want something modern and clean in a good location without breaking the bank during the Falls high-season. Would return!

The staff here is great. Thank you to Thelma who helped us with restaurants and bus options. She was so pleasant, competent and patient. Thank you to Samantha in the morning who explained to me where the Tim Hortons was and the WEGO bus service. This allowed us leave the car at the hotel and go down to the Falls and up to the Butterfly Garden. Breakfast was good with eggs, waffles and sausage. There was even hardboiled eggs which allowed me to avoid alot of carbs

Room tip: Outstanding staff. Very close to the Falls and restaurants. Pool and exercise room

We booked a jacuzzi king room for the first time here at Country Inn & Suites and it will be the last time. Firstly, check-in was nightmare. It took us like 30-40 minutes and there was only two people ahead of us. When we finally checked-in the lady could not my information in her system correctly from my license. When I tried to correct her it just got incredibly confusing. If they are new I understand but we have never have had issues numerous times before. They have gotten rid of the hot tub which for a person with a bad back was a reason we stayed here. We have stayed here more than a dozen times but never a jacuzzi suite. It is not worth the upgrade at all. The plug by the bed didn’t work. It wasn’t cleaned properly and the jacuzzi is very narrow. The shower is the smallest shower I have ever seen in a hotel. I feel like this hotel is going in the wrong direction. It is sad when great hotels start giving up on maintaining and become content on letting the hotel get worse. I may come back again but not in a jacuzzi suite.

Room tip: Don’t book a jacuzzi suite

Our room had an amazing view over the falls! Large room with TV, a/c, not noisy and fridge and microwave. Bathroom with overbath shower. No restaurant on site but Turtle Jacks is attached. Really friendly and helpful staff. Good location to see the falls but quite a walk to get to the promenade if you don't use the funicular.

Room tip: 1338 overlooks the falls

I booked on Expedia for a 1 night stay with my family. This trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake and area was in memorial of my dear beloved Mom, as it was a tradition to go to NOTL every year for Mother's Day. There were 4 of us on the trip which included a senior citizen, teenager and middle aged couple.
Upon checking into the hotel on Sunday night, we were warmly greeted by Thelma and Brendon. They were very happy and friendly and made the check in process smooth, fast and fun! Chris at the front desk was very helpful and nice too- she brought us extra blankets and duvets. Our Suite, which was on the second floor was clean and spacious. (The only negative I'd mention, as did 'hddddd on May 2'. was that it would be nice if there was at least a mirror somewhere else in the suite, preferably a long floor length mirror, so that other people could get themselves ready outside of the bathroom- which had the only mirror in the whole suite) Just another point...it would be nice if the walls were more sound proof as we could practically hear our neighbours conversations and people out in the hallway talking.
Breakfast was good- started at 7am-10:30am, something for everyone and constantly being replenished. In the lobby there is always coffee, tea, hot water (we did see some college kids getting the hot water for their ramen bowls) and if you want hot chocolate you did have to ask the front desk for a package. They also had delicious chocolate chip cookies for their guests on the front desk counter.
Parking was an average price of $20 which seems to be the norm for this area.
After staying one night, we decided to extend our mini vacation & stayed an extra night. Brendon at the front desk was able to get us a deal on our second night stay.

I believe what really influenced our decision to stay another night were the wonderful, friendly and excellent staff at the front desk....Thelma and Brendon. I can't say enough great things about them. The Country Inn & Suites by Radisson are so lucky to have Thelma and Brendon at their front desk. They made our stay special & if management reads this review...I think Thelma and Brendon should be given pay increases and promotions!!! {Thelma, I told you I would write this :) }
All in all, I highly recommend anyone whose looking to stay in the Niagara Falls area to stay at this excellent hotel. Anytime we will be coming back, we will come back to this special place. You can tell they care! Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality!
