I stayed at the Days by Wyndham Niagara Falls Centre St. By the Falls hotel on June 26 after a long 10-hour drive from New York. Arriving at 10:00 PM, we were exhausted and just wanted to settle in quickly. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but restful.
Upon arrival, we dropped our luggage in the room and went out to eat. When we returned around 11:30 PM, we discovered that the toilet was not flushing. I went to the front desk to report the issue, and while they sent someone to fix it promptly, the repair was only temporary. Both the toilet and shower were extremely old and clearly in need of replacement. Additionally, the ventilation fan in the room was extremely loud, making it difficult to get any rest.
My partner then attempted to take a shower, only to find that the shower drain plug and diverter were broken, and the shampoo bottle was empty. The shower water pressure was weak, and the shower tiles had mold on the grout, adding to the general feeling of uncleanliness. The room itself had a musty smell when we entered, and there were black stains on the carpet, indicating it hadn’t been cleaned properly for quite some time. The overall impression was that the room had not been renovated in decades.
To make matters worse, I later discovered from reviews on TripAdvisor that other guests had experienced similar issues with the toilet and shower, which the hotel clearly has not bothered to fix or address through renovation. The pictures on TripAdvisor were incredibly misleading, making the room look far better than it actually was. Additionally, many TripAdvisor members have only one contribution (one review only) for that specific hotel, which suggests they are probably fake profiles.
Parking was another sore point, with a steep fee of $17 plus tax per day.
Due to the lack of cleanliness, which is our number one priority in a hotel, we decided to leave just two hours after checking in. We left past midnight, not knowing if we would find another hotel to stay in.
On a positive note, the reception staff and the manager were very understanding and agreed to give me a refund. I have no complaints about the staff.
In summary, this was the worst hotel I have ever visited. It was disgusting—no other word can describe it better. I strongly advise against staying here.
