We booked the family suite, which featured three double beds, at a very affordable price. Staff (I assume an owner?) were friendly, and efficient right from check-in to check-out. I had little interaction with any staff, but it was always pleasant.
We had a apartment sized fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Room was quite large, and had a divider that separated off one of the beds to make a bedroom (the pictures of the room on the website are accurate). Nice feature to have when you want some privacy from the kids. Room had two sinks with mirrors, one in the bathroom and one just outside of it...which is great when two girls are doing hair and makeup.
They made good use of space with the amount of furniture. Downside was that there was only one dresser, and two beds didn't have an actual bedside table. However, there was plenty of surfaces to put our stuff.
The room was quite clean, but showed some signs of age. You can tell that they've done upgrades, and I'm sure over time it'll be great. I did especially like the flooring instead of carpet. Just felt that much cleaner. Outside was clean as well, and felt maintained.
It was very quiet. You could hear outside noise, but no drug addicts and such like other reviews have suggested. Even coming back fron Clifton Hill at 2am had us coming back to a very quiet place. It was really nice after a long day.
The motel is located a short walk away from the top of Clifton Hill, is in eyesight of the Greg Frewin Theatre, and an eight minute drive to a Zhers and Dollarama.
I have little complaint about the whole experience. I would have liked it better if the family suite had a kitchenette, or a few more appliances like a toaster (we just happened to bring our own). The beds were a little hard but not unbearable. And maybe in the family suite an extra chair.
I likely will return.
