For my birthday, we initially planned to reserve a room in downtown Toronto, but due to internal scheduling issues, we opted for a staycation closer to home. My daughter personally chose Hilton Toronto Airport and Suites, recalling our pleasant stay at Doubletree for her 6th birthday. Overall, our overnight stay at Hilton Toronto Airport and Suites was delightful. Here is a detailed review of our experience:
Location:
As an aviation enthusiast, this property was perfect. Our room offered a fantastic view of the runway, allowing us to watch planes arriving and departing from YYZ.
Price:
The cost is on the higher side, typical for a Hilton property. However, considering the overall experience, I believe it was worth it.
Room:
Thanks to my Gold membership, we were upgraded from a 2 Queen Bed room in the South Tower to a 1 King Suite with a separate living room and sofa bed. The suite was spacious, and all the furniture and equipment functioned well, except for the water pressure in the shower, which could use a boost.
Food:
We received a complimentary continental breakfast for two. The limited options led us to upgrade to a hot breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed. However, I noticed that the bread was not replenished even after informing the staff.
Building Facilities:
This hotel is well-equipped to cater to both travelers and business guests. Facilities include a swimming pool, gym, meeting rooms, half-court basketball, squash room (if I recall correctly), and a shuttle service.
Check-in Process:
The check-in was smooth, taking less than 15 minutes. The receptionist, whose name I unfortunately forgot, was warm and acknowledged my Gold status.
Housekeeping Service:
We requested toothpaste, four pairs of slippers, and a shaving kit, all of which were delivered promptly. The housekeeping staff on our floor were particularly welcoming, greeting us warmly upon arrival.
Staff:
The staff were consistently pleasant and warm. From the bellboy who assisted us on arrival to the reception and housekeeping staff, everyone was friendly and professional, contributing to a positive experience.
Given the opportunity, I would certainly consider this property for future staycations.
