We visited this restaurant a few times over the past month or two. On each occasion the menu has been fairly priced with lots of fresh fish and seafood options. We have enjoyed some very fine plaice and chips. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Rated for seafood and perhaps ambiance, we went out of our way to eat here - mistake. The beer in the bar beforehand was good (guest cask ale very nice). Went into the restaurant, given a small bistro table - no problem, we were a late booking. When we ordered our food, I asked for the wine list. We were served our starters, still no wine list, yet another table were given a wine list by the same waitress, on first asking. We asked for the wine list again, it was brought. Scallops were nice, one out of the 3 on my plate was overcooked. Mains arrived, I ordered a bottle of white wine - to be fair the gentleman serving us was attentive at that point and did bring it. We had both ordered the whole plaice, a catch of the day. It came with choice of fries, home cooked chips or baby potatoes, we went for the home cut/cooked chips as previous reviews recommended. The plaice was overcooked on one side, seemed like it was pan fried on one side which was done long enough to more than cook the other side , with the first side being rather over crispy and difficult to remove from the bones it was singed onto. The home cooked/cut chips had a dark brown colour to them and tasted as much - they were burnt or just short of being burnt (there was some potatoe in the middle). The accompaniments were capers, samphire and peas (don't think they were fresh). Very underwhelming. My husband had the summer fruits bread and butter pudding, it was 'nice'. It was very difficult to get the attention of any staff, even to order more. A very disappointing meal which only the company rescued.

Super food (very generous main course portion) and service but we felt it was somewhat pricey at £104 for 2 people

We booked to stay here for a one night stopover
And we have to say what a great place this is to stay.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable.
We decided to eat in the restaurant and we could see why it was packed, a seafood lover’s dream , the food quality was exceptional.
Great friendly staff who even accommodated us when we were late down for breakfast as the chef stayed on to cook us breakfast! amazing!!
Good area with some nice beaches not far away.
We will be back next year.
