12 of us enjoyed 5 nights at Mounts View, which was a delight. We really appreciated the idyllic and peaceful rural setting, the charm of the buildings, the relaxed atmosphere, the swimming pool, and the multitude of things to see and do in the neighbourhood. Who would have expected to be able to walk down the lane to look around a surrealist art gallery in Muddles Green? We cooked in rather than ate out most nights, as the house was so cosy. And daily visits to the Pekes chickens proved wonderfully therapeutic. Highly recommended!
Lovely homely place. Very well equipped.Enjoyed by all 11 guests! And dog... would definitely recommend
we went at Pekes houses as a big family including very small and adult children, and we found in the place far away more than what we needed or even were prepared to find.
The place is a magic one with all you cannot imagine, inside the house and outside the house and if you add the fact that there is a lot of reasons to appreciate the entire region, and also the fact that everyone makes its possible to give you all you need, as you find why you so much enjoyed your stay.
very warmly recommended,
We've just returned from a most relaxing weekend in the rural idyll that is Mounts View. It comfortably housed 12 adults and one child, and we enjoyed playing badminton, tennis, croquet and steamed ourselves in the sauna on the terrace. It's the perfect place if you want to escape to the countryside and be surrounded by beautiful fields and an abundance of nature. The houses on the estate have a remarkable history and the atmosphere is quite unique. It felt quite a privilege to experience life at Pekes for the blissful summer weekend we were there. We also enjoyed walking to the local pub, The Gun, which does fantastic food. We'd love to return if the opportunity ever arises!
We just returned to Italy after a long weekend at Pekes with friends. We stayed at Mounts View: a perfect location with perfectly clean and comfortable rooms, 3 bathroms with shower, a fully equipped kitchen and a perfect green and quiet environment. In short, everything was of the highest standard, including helpful and friendly staff.
We were very pleased to meet Eva Morris, the owner, a dear old adorable lady, very helpful to show us the streets around Pekes and Chiddingly, with a good knowledge of the best old pubs with the best food. We had a fantastic time: the morning we left at about 7.30 was like living in Jacquey Lawson's postcard: small wild rabbits with their white tails jumping, a couple of squirrels chasing each other around the trunk of an huge old oak, beautiful doves flying over our heads. The spectacular shades of lawn green perfectly kept in the morning light. And the moody landscape of the Sussex countryside from Mounts View. A fairytale !!!
I have to go back as soon as possible. Thanks Pekes.
